Wow, I just read an article in the Ft. Myers News Press about a local builder who is removing windows, doors, appliances, etc from brand new homes being built in Cape Coral.The builder is stating that they are removing the items to prevent them from being stolen while the owners are not happy with it. As the market continues to shift here in Cape Coral many investors who built new homes cannot afford them. Some were planning to move down, while MOST were expecting to sell for a profit. Well the ones who were expecting to sell for a profit have now realized that in many cases they own thousands, even a hundred thousand more than current market value. Keeping in mind the current situation in Tallahassee with Tax Reform  Do you support the potential of..... 1. Raising taxes to pay for the increased lanes on I-75 2. Tolls(study indiates pricing of between 8-20 cents per mile) OrIs the right answer to have Private Industry take over?  Today, during the City Council meetings the discussion came up about The Southwest Florida Expressway Authority (SWFEA) and the proposal to advance the 10 laning of I-75 in Lee and Collier Counties. The SWFEA was created by the Florida Legislature to find ways to advance construction of additional lanes on I 75 in Lee and Collier Counties. Today is the official start of Hurricane Season. We are now officially in our 'rainy season'. We were greeted today by Barry, a tropical storm. The experts are not expecting much punch out of Barry. He'll just give us a few inches, of actually much needed, rain. I'm not really a fan of rain. Growing up in Indiana, I used to LOVE sitting outside during thunderstorms. Here its just not the same somehow. Maybe there is a different pressure in the air or something. Maybe it's because I've been spoiled by Florida Sunshine for so long (coming up on 13 years).Either way, I just wanted to give Barry a proper introduction & thank him for taking it easy on us this first day of Hurricane Season.
