Balboa Island Market Update and Homes for Sale Balboa Island in Newport Beach is a highly desirable area of Newport Beach. It is actually made up of 3 islands - the main island, the little island and Collins Island. Collins Island is gated, and there are 8 homes located on it. Balboa Island has it's own unique charm. Driving down Marine Avenue and there are many stores and places to dine. Also, Balboa Island is a great walk in the morning (or evening or anytime). Grab a Starbucks and it is about a 3 mile walk if you walk the entire island and the little island. The walk is serene and the scenery is incredible. A Day in the Back Bay     The Back Bay is a wonderful place to visit if you're looking to get out and enjoy the outdoors in Newport Beach.  With Santa Ana Heights and Dover Shores and Eastbluff on the other, many homes are fortunate enought to overlook this nature preserve which has long been a favorite of bird watchers.   For our family, it is a place to hike and kayak while enjoying the beauty which is so close to home.  Many enjoy horseback riding through the trails as well.   If you enjoy the thought of kayaking but don't have one of your own, you can rent one at Southwind Kayaks or at the Newport Aquatic Center.  I prefer Southwind if I want to kayak in to the bay itself and Newport Aquatic if I'm planning to stay in the Back Bay.  This is just based on the location of each.    Upp... 01/04/2015

Newport Beach Homes for Sale The weather is about 70 degrees and the skies are bright blue. I took my dog for walk this morning on the beach, and there were quite a few surfers out. The wind was minimal and and it was a beautiful morning to enjoy the beach. Also, the tide has been quite high, and today was no exception. For some reason, I tend to see more pelicans this time of year.  And of course surfers out enjoying this beautiful weather. The water is cold and they were wearing wetsuits.  This is part of the lifestyle of living in Newport Beach. I attended a wonderful holiday party last night and that along with other holiday festivities has gotten me a little behind with blogging. I am going to share holiday photos of the Christmas Boat parade over the next few days and hopefully will add to your Christmas spirit and celebration. It was an incredible site and the boats were absolutely stunning with decorations to the hilt. People were singing, and reaching out to each other to wish each other a happy holiday season! It is a little challenging to take photos at night, on a boat which is moving, and pictures of boats that are moving - so therefore many were not clear. I am sharing the ones which were! The Christmas Boat Parade in Newport Beach began last night and will run through December 21, 2014. Newport Harbor looked so festive driving by, and there is a TON of traffic. I have been in this traffic for the past two nights, and it is really stop and go. And I am thinking it is going to be worse tomorrow night because it is Friday night. There are many parties going on, and there are limo's and party buses bringing people to this event. Also, the home owners who have Newport Beach bay front homes have their homes impeccably decorated as well. On Balboa Island in Newport Beach - the homes are decorated completely and it is fun to see the reflection in the water! Speechless Sunday | Balboa Peninsula Point Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach has both bay front homes and ocean front homes as well. This photo was taken from East Bay from a bay front home on preview. Bay front homes has dynamic views as it is always changing, and there is also a view at night.  It is serenity watching the boats glide by. All of Southern California had a fairly decent storm last night and it rained all night up until about 1 pm today, and it is supposed to rain a little more. Which is a great thing - we need the rain! This morning I heard a loud bang, and saw a bright flash as a transformer blew, Wish I could have photographed it, but I did take a picture of the smoke after . . . fortunately my electricity did not go out. Then the tide has been quite high, and they were expecting very big waves. I did not see any huge waves today, but the ocean definitely looked quite turbulent. Ensign View Park in Newport Beach Ensign View Park is a Newport Beach park that has amazing views. It is located at 2501 Cliff Drive in Newport Beach. It is a popular place to take photos as there is often a Catalina Island view in the distance, plus you can see Newport Harbor. It is especially beautiful this time of year with all the holiday lights, and it will be really lit up for the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade. This is a popular place to have photos taken before school events such as Winter Formal and the Prom. It is fun to see the high school kids all dressed up and have this amazing backdrop. There are many Newport Beach parks, but this one I have stopped at time and time again to take photos, generally because I find it so pretty. 12/09/2014

Holiday Decor in and around Newport Beach The holidays are so fun and love all the holiday decor which gets put up not only on homes but also on boats and docks, entries to neighborhood. This post is inspired by Debbie Laity Show Us Your Home Contest.  One area which goes all out with holiday decorations is Fashion Island in Newport Beach. Not only do they put an incredible tree and decor around Fashion Island, but there is also Santa's House for the children to put in their holiday requests. Also, I have written about the Fashion Island Christmas tree lighting which is a very fun event and I did attend this year - it is generally held in November.
