Though Newport Beach is home, I couldn't point to any one home as my childhood home. I lived in 7 houses growing up in Newport Beach. Newport Beach has been home since I was six weeks old.  My first stop was my family's beach house.  Rough time for a newborn, living ocean front in Newport Beach.     It was my grandparents' summer home for over 40 years, and it was a lot of fun to have a place like that to call home.  Like many of the homes in which I lived, it looks very different.  Instead of the beach cottage you see above, it's now a huge (relatively speaking) oceanfront home which sits on almost the entire lot. Newport Beach is a wonderful place to live. Believe me, I work, play and live here. Currently there are 455 single family homes for sale in Newport Beach. The most expensive home is $32,600,000 The least expensive is $120,000 In the month of July 35 homes have sold versus 27 homes in June.  Business has really picked up in July, it seems buyers are realizing what great buys are out there. In July: The most expensive home sold for $26.000,000. Situated on a double lot On Harbor Island.  This property has not been on the market for 35 years. It has 112 feet of dock space to accomodate a fleet of yachts and 12 car parking. The least expensive home sold in July is a ranch style home in the Santa Ana Heights neighborhood. William Harold Jewelers is one of my favorite places to browse.  The first time I was in the store, I was around 13 years old and in with my mom.  It was always a treat to see the beautiful jewelry, try some on and occasionally take a prized piece home. William Harold Jewelers was established in Newport Beach in 1969 and is family run.  Though Tim Harold Sr. still does all of the buying, supervises the establishment and is available by appointment, his son, Tim, is now often found behind the counters full of beautiful baubles and jewels.   About half of the jewelery in William Harold Jewelers is estate jewelry, and they have some amazing pieces.  My sister and I were able to locate the perfect ring for my brother to give his now wife as her engagement ring.  It gave her a completely uni... 08/01/2009
