My Dad said, "If it worth doing it is worth scheduling."
To many agents complain of all the effort they expend that leads to nothing.
These agents, perhaps in desparation, buy into the 24/7 work week. They should have met my Dad.
If you really under stand you spend your weekends with what should be the highest priority in your life, you will be motivated to find one of the desparates to burn their weekends on your behalf.

I always work by appointment and it’s not only more productive, but professional as well.

I don't take appointments on the weekends unless there are extenuating circumstances, i.e. seller is only in town for a few hours on Saturday, type of thing. Doesn't mean I don't work on the weekends but I do NOT take appointments or meet with clients. That's for during the week, between the hours of 9 AM and 6 PM. If they can't fit me in M-F, they're not serious.

Paul Henderson only on weekends! Hmmm....too early to retire, at least for me...
However, yes, I do have my weekend schedule done by Thursday or Friday afternoon.

We encourage appointments and we generally do not do a lot of walk-in business. Scheduling a showing usually requires advance notice.
Consumers make appointments with physicians, dentists, lawyers, accountants and tax preparers. If you simply walk in to any of these professionals' offices expecting to be served, you are likely to be told to make an appointment.
Real estate offices are not fast food franchises. Real estate agents cheapen the value of their services by behaving like one of Pavlov's dogs, salivating like mad the moment a consumer rings the bell.

No! I think that would be a huge mistake. The other agents would love it.

It is always by appointment only. I don't have walk in traffic, ever...

I don't think we should be pop up agents. If someone calls from out of town and is truly a new and exceptionally motivated = then yes, I will get in my car - but my weekends are already scripted so I don't have a lot of time to go running off to talk.

Paul, we do that already. We will get an occasional sign call and depending on answers to questions we will decide how we will proceed with a showing or not.

I pretty much do. If someone calls I do not drop everything and run I look at what I have going on and set an appointment. If they can't work around my schedule then it is okay with me.

Fortunately in the mortgage business can be done virtually, but have met with clients by appointment on weekends.

Paul,
I think that makes sense in your case. We were fortunate that in commercial real estate one does not work on weekend, except on rare occasions. A

For the most part that is the only way I work with the exception of the occasional urgent call.
