Howe Real Estate Should Be.
As an Army brat, I understand how stressful a move can be on a family - and how difficult the decision to purchase or sell a home can be. I moved ten times before I was twelve years old.
Moving to Washington DC in middle school was wonderful for me and my family. I was able to settle in and renew a library card after three years. I went to high school at Holton Arms in Bethesda, took horseback riding lessons in Potomac, and sold guide books at the White House in the summers and on weekends!
I went away to college at Duke University, majoring in Economics and English and joined Pi Beta Phi and then I returned to DC for law school at George Washington University.
After clerking for a DC Superior Court Judge, Alfred Burka, I joined the General Counsel's Office at the Department of Energy. I worked on regulatory matters, drafted rules and learned to negotiate on behalf of my clients as I negotiated international agreements for the US Government. For about 15 years, I was dual career and then I retired to become a full time realtor and Associate Broker, licensed in DC, MD and VA.
Somewhere in there, I married and had two children and a standard poodle or two. In my spare time I love to garden, read British mysteries like Agatha Christies's Poirots and Miss Marples, and stay in touch with past clients. I have named my poodles Poirot, Arthur, and Captain after Agatha Christie characters. Travel seems to be mostly to visit my son and his boys in New York City and Conn., to Boston to visit my daughter, and to Vail CO for family time. I support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Heifer International.
Licensed for more than 33 years, I have been with Keller Williams Capital Properties for over 10 years, serving on the Agent Leadership Council and taking an active role in the brokerage. Averaging approximately 50 transactions as a solo agent, I have the time to treat each client like a special family member or new best friend, regardless of the size of the transaction. The largest sale I have ever had was over $2.5 million and the smallest was a co-op in DC that I sold for less than $25,000. During the previous market shift, I did a number of short sales for clients throughout the DC metro area, and always shared a sense of future with those clients as they moved through sorting out their financial difficulties. Many of them have bought homes with me since their short sales!
I act as both listing agent and buyer agent (although not in the same transaction) with slightly more listings than buyers. While I specialize in homes in the area inside the Beltway within DC, MD and VA I have sold homes from Frederick MD and Baltimore MD to Fredericksburg VA. My favorite clients are those going through a difficult time, such as a senior citizen selling the family home or a divorcee moving on after the final decree, who need lots of care and support - and first time home buyers who are excited but uncertain about the home buying process!
Regardless of where you want to live in the DC Metro area, I probably have sold a home there.
As a solo agent, I don't focus on the number of transactions I have each year. Instead I talk about the lives I have changed by helping each client make a good financial decision as they purchase or sell a property. The care that I show each client has resulted in much of my business being by referral from past clients and sphere.
I am very proud of the level of service that each client receives as I guarantee a stressfree and productive transaction for my clients. I look forward to speaking with you about your real estate needs! Please reach out to me at 240-401-5577 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.

|We were lucky enough to employ Lise Howe in our search for a new home. Lise remained a tireless advocate throughout the 9 months of our house search and acquisition. Our house search took us from fixer-uppers in SE and NE Washington DC, to bungalows in Hyattsville and finally to a nice quaint home in Silver Spring. I can not count on my hands and toes combined the number of Saturday and Sunday afternoons that Lise spent showing us various arrays of properties throughout the DC metro area. I could imagine myself in Lise's shoes, and I would have not had endured with patience and kind demeanor so long. Lise is the consummate professional and a trusted advisor along the way. In the boiling hot Spring / Summer market of 2014 we put down 4 offers before landing our winning bid. I can imagine that assembling the requisite paperwork is difficult enough for one offer, however Lise and her team were able to pull the offers together quickly, utilizing a shared document platform which makes signing a breeze. I was able to seamlessly share my documents throughout the process with my loan officer and any other parties involved. When we finally did land a property where our offer was accepted our battle was far from over. We had a house that was sold in AS IS condition, however Lise aided us in negotiating certain repairs, a reduced price and seller paid closing costs. Beyond that, Lise personally advocated for those conditions to be completed to satisfaction before our closing. Leading up till closing, Lise held our hands through the home purchasing process and confidently answered all of our questions along the way. Lise, thank you for your effort and expertise! We will value the fight that you gave to our family every time we walk through our front door. Until our next home purchase, Oliver & Katie in Silver Spring|
