I strive to live out the Golden Rule: "To treat others the way I want to be treated." For me, this begins with my wife, family, friends, and you, my clients and future clients. It extends to other agents, escrow officers and everyone involved in a transaction.

The Golden Rule is deeply connected to another principle: "you reap what you sow," or, said another way, "the best way to get what you want is to help others get what they want." I believe that when people (other agents, assistants, escrow, inspectors, etc.) are treated with respect, consideration, and honesty (just the way you and I want to be treated) problems are easier to deal with and solutions are easier to come by.

With my clients it involves listening and knowing that it's all about them, not about me and my ego. It involves knowing their needs and wants, returning phone calls, communicating, and walking with them from beginning to end. It means doing for you what I would want an agent to do for me if I was buying or selling a home.  It means giving you real service, not just "lip service."

I have a confession to make: I don't always apply the Golden Rule. I wish I did, but the clear truth is that I don't (just ask my wife and kids!). However, the Golden Rule will be my standard and ambition. I will blow it from time to time, but when I do, I hope that I will admit it, apologize and strive to do better!

A key to understanding this dynamic individual is knowing that he's truly a family man. Dan and his wife, Deb, were high school sweethearts and were married during their freshman year in college. Together they have been very involved in raising their sons, Josh, Jeremy and Joel, and daughter, Jessica (Josh and Jeremy have recently joined Dan in business). "In my personal life, my family and my faith are what matter most," he declares. "Nothing is more important to me!" When their kids were in middle and elementary school, they moved from Colorado to Rancho Peñasquitos and the Poway School District. "We love this community!" Dan exclaims. "This area is all about family."

It's a Good Life

It's no surprise that when he's not handling matters for his real estate clients, Dan's activities frequently center around home and family. Holidays and other special occasions, when everyone is together, are especially valued. "As a family we love to eat, talk and play games. It can get pretty intense in our home, but we have a lot of fun," Dan reveals. He also loves going to the movies, traveling and running with his great-looking beagle, Rusty. But if you ask Dan, he'll tell you what he enjoys most of all is sitting down with family and friends in a pleasant atmosphere with good food, good drink and good conversation. For Dan, it doesn't get better than that.
