2026 Opening Day at the Del Mar Horse Races Horse racing enthusiasts are no doubt eagerly anticipating the 2026 thoroughbred racing season coming soon to the Del Mar Racetrack. Opening Day is this Friday July 17th. Thoroughbred racing at the Del Mar Racetrack at the Del Mar Fairgrounds will run through Monday September 7th.
