February 17th, 2006 - Derek Alfama, a high-profile Broker and community member, and Broker/attorney Lawrence (Larry) Army Jr., Esq., launched the first Weichert® franchise in Worcester County in February 2006 as "a truly full-service realty with what I believe is the strongest support system in the industry," Derek said. The agency is located in the key strategic markets of Auburn and Lexington Massachusetts, affording them "numerous referral opportunities."
Derek is a longtime Massachusetts resident who has been in real estate career since 2001, earning the no. 3 spot in the top 100 in the Northeast region for another major company prior to becoming the principal of the firm. He is a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, Massachusetts Association of Realtors®, Worcester Board of Realtors® and the Eastern Connecticut Association of Realtors®. Licensed in both Connecticut and Massachusetts, he holds the SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist) designation.
Larry has been involved in real estate for more than 10 years. In 2001, he founded the Massachusetts branch of Sunset Mortgage Company, which rose to the no. 1 spot in the U.S. out of 300 branches in 2003, 2004 and 2005 which resulted in the successful sale of the company. He is a continuing education advocate and has completed several personal management and leadership courses, as well as sales training. April 23rd, 2007 - WEICHERT, REALTORS® - Home & Land Partners in Auburn, Massachusetts, a franchise with Weichert Real Estate Affiliates, Inc., have announced the purchased of the company-owned Weichert, Realtors® office in Lexington. Newly named WEICHERT, REALTORS® - Home & Land Partners, the agency located at 1728 Massachusetts Avenue joins a roster of more than 350 independently owned and operated franchises in 29 states.
"We are thrilled to take over an office whose success is driven by a team of outstanding agents," said Alfama, the company's broker, noting that all the sales associates currently on board will remain with the company. Adding the Middlesex County location to the Worcester County-based franchise "puts us in the top 50 real estate companies in the state in volume," he said.
