I don't know what prices will come to... but I think if we need gas we will buy it. If we don't, we will limit our purchases. And I also think if we want to do our part to negate war, then we will have to live with higher prices. Paying a higher price at a gas pump does not equate in any way as having to leave your home because it is being bombed. Those are my thoughts. Paying more at a gas pump is nothing in the grand scheme of things.

$5.05 today. It was $4.89 a week ago. I expect it to go above $10.00. They are telling us that. Just like they told us so many other things over the past 1.5 years.

All that may be true. However, in the back of my mind, wars, shortages and strikes are used as distraction for change. High gas pushes us toward public transportation, electric vehicles or to increase bicycle sales. One never knows

I read something about Shell purchasing oil from Russia for $28.50 a barrel, I wonder if all of the big oil companies are taking advantage of the war? They are going to all get rich, while common folk are still paying high prices for gas. As always, follow the money and we will find out what is really going on, haha.

In downtown Chicago regular gasoline has crossed $4.00 a gallon ranging from $4.19 to $4.80. Premium has crossed $5.00 a gallon from $5.29 to $4.80. It is now worth a trip to the suburbs to fill up. No further comment about why!

I've been paying $5.10+ since February, so I'd welcome $4.00/gal.
I drive a fuel driven car, I'll gas up as needed, it is what it is as long as the powers that be trump up prices using this war as an excuse.
I was paying $3.40/gal in 2020, so lower is possible, which proves that
it's all fabricated increases by opportunists and out of my hands...luckily
I live in America's Finest City where the sun is still shining and the waves are still crashing - and I can see them doing so from my balcony - it's a good lfe!

This is what I think. Walking is good exercise...lol Gas prices will go up and as they do so will everything else because delivery charges will go up and supply chain issues will continue.
Be prepared. Having 3 - 6 months, or more, of food is wise, Rice & dry beans are a good start. A great source of protein is rice, beans & brown bread (as a meal). Make sure you have a good water filter (I like Berkey), candles and/or oil lamps. I know some folks that have installed whole house generators but now some are buying portable solar systems.

My thoughts are that 80M+ people are getting exactly what they voted for
Sucks for the rest of us.
I'm a fan of renewables, but the fact that we don't have fossil fuel independence from the global markets is sad. That said, they still have some "weapons" they can use including tax holidays, releasing barrels from the strategic reserve, and some other measures that can be taken.

Year after year we refuse to take our medicine. We go to war over oil (unoffically), we have geopolitical issues, etc. It's time for us to invest in alternative energy solutions. Tesla may not be perfect, but it shows us that an electric car can be a smart solution. We just made progress in cold fusion research...we should be investing a ton into this research and other projects so that we are energy independent of other nations and hey, if they are green solutions- even better.
