Many years ago I wrote a post citing a NAR(not NRA) story about an agent carrying firearms.  I remember a comment on that post that stated some agents can't be trusted with a lockbox key...  I think of that post and that comment on occasion.  And once again...

Good for her.  That's why open house can be dangerous.  Here in my area, what I heard most often is theft.  A few keep the agent busy with questions and the rest rob the house.

Never do open houses along - never. And yes, being prepared to defend oneself is important.  My first year in the business an agent was brutally mudered while showing a home - at an open. I never forgot that and we all knew parnering up was the best way to prevent horrific situations. If I evern had an ingling something was 'off' about someone, I PAID ATTENTION and probably kept myself out of harms way a few times.
