I do not mention it. I answer if buyers ask. As far as the deduction, it has always faced an attack from the left. I do hope Trump knows how much it means to those who take advantage of it. The last 8 years have seen an all out assault on those who work hard, buy a home, build businesses and that is about to change

Like the second amendment and California's Prop 13, MID is always under fire. I don't discuss politics with clients and would never ask them to call/write/email on an issue. To say I couldn't care less about what NAR says implies that I actually care about what they say and that would be WRONG!

Yes I have in the past done this with a monthly newsletter. I think it is a good thing & might not be on homeowners radar.
They've been trying for years to kill that deduction.
NAR is just a bunch of blowhards. If they really were worried about it they would do more.

Albert Clark The Mortgage Interest Deduction has always been a big target. I wouldn't upset my clients until I knew it was a done deal.

I participate in NAR calls to action when appropriate. I would never ask my clients to be engaged in the process.

I mention the Mortgage Interest Deduction to clients as part of the homeownership process but I don't feel it's my place to suggest any legislative action unless they ask.

I wouldn't get ahead of it but also Fannie and Freddie are targets of the Republican House so real estate will be under attack.

Why would I mention it in marketing? Interest is only deductible if it meets the conditions in the Income Tax Act, its Regulations and relevant court cases. They should talk to their tax advisor about such matters.

I do encourage them to 'fire off an emal, letter and phone call' to their representatives to have OBAMACARE classified as a TAX on the citizen and applied as a paid tax.

It is a big deal, but I would hope the client's tax person has already discussed it with them. I am more apt to advise clients to appeal their tax valuations.

I have them speak with their accountant regarding anything tax related
To answer you question though - No I would/will not

Albert Clark - always - with my buyers. Specially first time home buyers.
