Some of the best advice I ever received was to live as though everyone is watching all the time. Sometimes I forget, but in general it seems quite wise.
Someone else, a good friend since passed on, had a disability and used to mention her "lovely legs". They were actually deformed from a knee operation gone wrong on both legs. From this, I learned to refer to trouble-makers as "the lovely Mrs. So-and-so" and it gives me the pleasure of venting in a quiet way as needed. In general though, leaving out all sorts of detail is a very good idea.

Anything in writing, including emails and texts, is strictly business. Aside from the possibility of being hacked, what if they were used as testimony in a court case, or in a disciplinary hearing before the Real Estate Commission?

Best to avoid writing that type of thing, not good to voice it either.

Of course. I shared one such event right here on active rain. Completely illegal in the arena of anti-hacking measures.
Client information is anonymous meaning much more effect will be needed to connect the record to a citizen.

No. Anything I put in writing could at sometime be subpoenaed. I always write my emails with this thought in my head.

My father always taught me that behaving as though you live in a glass house and The Golden Rule go hand-in-hand! So, no, Debbie Reynolds - what you see is what you get!

You can read my emails all you want. That is if you can stay awake long enough. I have thought to invest in a private server, just in case.

I was taught the same as Carol Wilson . Always communicate like your clients are watching over your shoulder.
