If you glean new knowledge from the course, yes. If it is the same old, same old and you're only getting alphabet soup from it for your business card, don't waste your time, energy or money - the public could care less!

They are to those who think, feel, believe they are important. My sense is that the consumer's don't know what they are ... and most likely do not care.

For me as a newbie, on-the-job experience is more important Harry F. D'Elia. After a few years, I can see taking more classes (not just the CECs or classes that you are personally interested in), for a designation or two. More experience and knowledge in my niche (age-restricted communities and working with Senior Clients) is very important to me!

For the knowledge if you want to expand into that area and can't find any other options, yes.
As far as having CRS, ePro, Diversity, EIEIO, GRI, ... after your name, no. Reason: certifications only matter to hiring managers who understand what they mean. In our world, sellers and buyers don't even know who NAR is, let alone what the certifications are.

I like learning new staff, so i took few just for mare knowledge. Yet, only experience makes you a better agents, not multiple certificates.

I don't think the buying or selling consumers have a clue what the letters mean.
3,988,144
I think the education part is where the value is. The letters don't impress anyone but the person that uses them.

Only if YOU learned something from them; the customers don't really know what they mean or care.

YES! Without mine, I don't know where I would be - I learn so much with each one - especially the CRS designation. Those classes are absolutely fantastic!

I do not think the designations are important, no, however I think the education they represent is important. But only if you want to succeed.

No, the education of the the designations are but not the letters behind the name

Real Estate designations are important although some may not have a clue what they mean. To those that understand, it shows that you've taken the time to become educated in a certain area of expertise.

Everything is important if you use it correctly at the right time. It is meaningless if you don't bring value and notice to it.

Depends on what was learned in obtaining the designation and how it is used. The initials alone do little to improve or impress.

Not to the general public. Larry is an Assoicate Broker and most consumers have no idea what that means...
