Absolutely a team player! You are being hired to complete a job and have the potential for gaining referrals. When there is open communication and everyone works together, the transaction usually goes much more smoothly. Who wouldn't want that?

Yes, I am. You have too. Every transaction is a work of the whole team who work for principals: agents, inspectors, escrow and title reps, mortgage team, other vendors. You can not close it working alone:)

Yes, absolutely. I feel it's the only way to be. It's very unprofessional of the other real estate agent NOT to be. Pulling double duty for agents right now, that feel they don't have to do anything. Very discouraging.

Absolutely! There is an advantage to working as a team player and how you work with others impacts how everyone in the transaction remembers you.

Yes, our reputation demands it. All too often, we will be dealing with the same agents in furture transactions. Besides, this business can be fun if approached in a positive mindset.

I am a school counselor, that's my degree, that's my personality. I'm all about getting along with everybody. In this business some times getting along is hard. I wish agents would work together for the benefit of the clients, seller and buyer

John Meussner Aside from looking out for my client's best interest, I most definitely cooperate to insure a smooth transaction.

I like to make it as smooth as possible and if the other agent is busy I will do things for them like picking up condo documents.

It doesn't pay not to be a team player. We are all in it for the same reason, so why not keep the stress level down by cooperationg with others?

Hi John...I surely try to be a team player. I do not leave the closing to chance. I try to make sure all the bases are covered all the time..

Sorry, but its only about my client and their best interest.
I am always nice to the listing agent unless they give me a reason not to be. If the title agent knows what they are doing, they won't have a problem with me either. But I will also step on their toes if I need to.
Since I only have one team...the buyer side... that is my only concern. This is not a party...it is a real estate transaction with opposing interests.
As an exclusive buyers agent I am not in it for a popularity contest.

It's only about myself and my customer when the other agent crosses the line first.

John,
It's never about me. I'm a team player as long as it's all about my client. I refuse to make it a painful experience, but I have an obligation to put their interests ahead of the other parties. I can be polite, professional, communicate clearly and I get along with most everyone.
If they get disagreeable, I'll adjust as necessary, but again keeping professionalism and my clients interest first.
