Get to Know Greg Hounshell
I was raised in Wythe County on the family farm that has been in the Hounshell family for over 100 years. I graduated from Rural Retreat High School in 1987. In 1991, I graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Civil Engineering. I also hold a Professional Engineer's License issued by the State of Virginia.
A fifteen year career with the United States Department of Agriculture took me across the state. I lived in northern Virginia for over five years and Richmond for over four years. I believe my experiences give me a unique perspective on the real estate market here in Southwest Virginia.
My wife Renee and I had our first child in July of 2004 and our second in November in 2007. In 2004, we decided to return home and raise our sons among family, friends, and the wonderful people of Wythe County and southwest Virginia.
My commitment to you is to provide you with professional, friendly service that fits your personal needs. I believe the decision to buy or sell real estate is one of the most personal decisions you can make. I want to work with you as a diligent partner until we have reached your goals.

Certifications
I joined Long & Foster, REALTORS and Team Link in the fall of 2006. In 2007, Team Link became the Top Producing Team in the Blacksburg office with over $25 million in sales. We were the third highest producing team in the Southwest Region. The team concept allows us to service clients throughout southwest Virginia. I work the Wythe/Bland market and service Smyth, Pulaski, Grayson, and Carroll as well. My partners cover the New River Valley.
Additionally, we have solid expertise in land sales. Between us we have over forty years experience with the Department of Agriculture as well as a Professional Engineer's License. We have experience in farm sales, recreation properties, and subdivision development.
