October is national Fire Safety month. In 1871, the Great Chicago Fire raged for 3 days over the period of time between October 8th through the 10th. As a real estate agent, I'm helping people with transitions. One of those transitions often involves getting people settled into new surroundings. Usually, the thought of changing voter registration information is very far removed from more pressing and urgent matters, but it's important to complete this update.In Dallas County, it's easy to become qualified as a Voter Deputized Registrar (VDR). You can take a short class in person, or via Zoom. Last week, I Zoomed into getting my VDR credentials again. The credentials expire on December 31st of every even-numbered year, so I'm now re-upped until the end of 2024.In the last VDR cycle (2021-2022), there were 3098 VDRs in Dallas County.
