Showing Extraordinary Lake Minnetonka Properties This Morning   In the real estate business, not all days are like this one.  This morning I had the privilege of touring some remarkable properties in the Lake Minnetonka area of Hennepin County (about half an hour west of downtown Minneapolis).  These were anything but typical homes and lots. Wayzata home owners it is time for your March of 2012 update. The Wayzata real estate market is continuing to show some great numbers.  According to Infosparks through the NorthstarMLS, the month’s supply of homes for sale is down 29.1% from March of 2011. That is an unbelievable drop in homes for sale. In March of 2011, we had a 7 Month supply of homes for sale in Wayzata. In March of 2012, we had a 5 month supply. Now the overall picture shows the month’s supply of homes for sale has dropped 15.4% from the previous 12 months. This means less competition, and less competition, means increasing demand.   Now the other great news for sellers is that in March of 2012, closed sales were up 23.3% from the previous year.  The pending sales went up 11.9%. Here's a unique and unusual Holiday Event.. The Wayzata Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the first annual Young Professionals Ugly Sweater Restaurant Crawl on December 2nd, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The crawl starts at the Wayzata Muni (Municipal Pub and Restaurant) and then moves to Sunsets on Wayzata Bay, winding up at Northcoast.  And after a few cocktails at each locale, one must wonder if anyone will even be able to determine whose sweater is ugliest.  With three or four martinis under one's belt, most ugly sweaters would probably look pretty good to the average person! Wayzata holds its Halloween "Boo Blast" on October 30th, from Noon to 4 p.m.  This will be a super kids event that should draw visitors from all over the Twin Cities! In the 32 years I've been a Realtor in the Lake Minnetonka area of Minneapolis, MN, I have always made it my priority to serve my listing clients by marketing their listings to the fullest degree and exposure to the most Realtors and prospects as soon as possible. I agree that it is nice to get both sides of the transaction, but those agents and/or Brokers, who make an effort (by various means) to sell it themselves or "in house" are doing a disservice to their clients, the sellers.  I always have a Broker Open House, advertised on our RMLS as soon as possible to invite all the co-Brokers in the area so everyone will know about the home and get a chance to see it inside.
