When we arrived the parking lot was filled to overflowing. Even though this was a sad occasion,  sadness was not the theme. The Jeep door hinge needs to be fixed...NOW! Some things in life take precedence. You may have a whole list of top priority items that need to be completed in a day and then one comes along that trumps them all. I have multiple offers on a listing in Owings MD. I have a 203K inspection scheduled for this afternoon on another sale. But what squeezed in the middle?  My drivers side door for the Jeep has a broken hinge. In other words, the door will not open and close. It needs to be repaired now. I cannot exactly see going down the Southern Maryland Highway in this COLD and ICE with a window open let alone a DOOR! A Tribute to our Neighbor and Friend, Wanda Morrison   When I think of Wanda, I think of chocolate. She loved her chocolate.  I would drop off Godiva at her doorstep at Christmas. This year I treated her to White Chocolate and Cherry Bread. She enjoyed all kinds of sweets. My Dad would take her McFlurry's. My Mom would share all kinds of goodies with her.  As long as it was sweet, it was a treat to her. But chocolate in her book was tough to beat. When I think of Wanda, I think of her family. Her conversation almost always included them. Occasionally we would talk about the Diners (you know, the birds we would feed on the beach) or about Ralph, but mostly her conversations were about family. When I think of Wanda, I think of soaps. Neeld Estate in Huntingtown MD Residents Need Help from Storm! The storm damage will be on Channel 9 News tonight showing that the Homeowners along the Neeld Estate Beach closer to the Breezy Point Harbor are being deluged with water again. The recent storms have obliterated the beach and all that is keeping the water from coming in several of the homes is the relentless effort of the neighbors to pile thousands of sand bags and hundreds of tires along the front of the homes. Until you see this, you cannot fathom the devastation. I took an old tire down and some old real estate signs to stake them in the sand. I worked for an hour pushing tires from the roadfront to the beachfront. I've tried calling the local fire departments, the Sheriiff's Office, and EMailing a few local politicians... 11/23/2009

I received this from a friend and thought I would share this amazing story & photos. BLACK BEAR QUINTUPLETS Black bears typically have two cubs; rarely, one or three. In 2008, in northern New Hampshire , a black bear Sow gave birth to five healthy young. There were two or three reports of sows with as many as 4 cubs, but five was, and is, very extraordinary. I learned of them shortly after they emerged from their den and set myself a goal of photographing all five cubs with their mom - no  matter how much time and effort was involved. I knew the trail they followed on a fairly regular basis, usually shortly before dark.  After spending nearly four hours a day, seven days a week, for more  than six weeks, I had that once-in-a-lifetime  opportunity and  photographed them.
