Hey Where is Everyone Today on the Golf Course?   Today we had day 1 of a 3 day rainstorm. I was at a WCR event at the Redlands County Club and the golf course is usually full of golfers and their carts. It was pouring rain and no one was around except the birds who were jumping on the course. A Family I Helped Buy a House then Later Sell- I Love Real Estate #3   When I first started selling real  they were my second buyers. We looked at several places and then they called and said they wanted to put in an offer. Back then, there were so many homes on the market so it was pretty easy to get offers accepted. I remember how excited they were when I called and told them the seller had accepted their offer.   It was a quick transaction and the buyers were more than qualified so we closed fast with a 80/20 loan. His lender (one of the major 5 banks) advised him to do this type of loan instead of the conventional that also they qualified for. New Thrift Shop in Redlands- Proceeds Go To Pet Adoption Agency BARC There is a new boutique in town and the proceeds go to the BARC Rescue, Benovent Animal Rescue Committee, which is a "no-kill" organization where animals are nursed back to health, given shots and neutered/spayed and put up for adoption. WCR X-mas Luncheon- Proceeds to Youth Hope in Redlands Our local branch had not done much since the WCR Spring Tea for Youth Hope in which we donated $2500 to help provide clothing and food for homeless teens in the Redlands area. So on the 10th of December, another WCR member and myself decided we should have our annual Christmas luncheon anyway and try to get some warm clothing for our favorite organization "Youth Hope". This is a group who helps homeless teenagers that live on the streets in the Redlands area. This organization has helped over 900 kids this year, 2013. I called "Spaghetti Factory" in Redlands and the manager was very obliging to help us do this in a rush. Warning....Credit Card Breach at Target Target confirmed  that shoppers who shopped in their stores between November 23-December 15 are at risk of having their credit and debit card data stolen.   Target  has over 1800 stores in the US and 124 in Canada.This breach involves the theft of information stored on the magnetic stripe on the backs of cards used at nearly all of Target's stores around the country. This mass data violation involves aproximately 40 million customers who shopped in the store during that time. USA Today confirmed that the Secret Service was investigating this breach of Target customers who swipped their credit cards in the stores. The only good news is that apparently Target has not had its on-line credit services breached. Now You Can Watch TV while Pumping Gasoline Filling up my tank is probably my least favorite task to do every 4-5 days and I always try to get someone else to do it for me. But yesterday I had to stop in the city and had a 15 mile drive as it was getting dark so I decided to fill up as the light had just come on. While pumping the gas, I realized that there was TV's at all the tanks and Jimmy Kimmel was on. I can tell you I was really surprised but it made me laugh. The tanks all had different shows on them so I guess when you pull in, you need to decide which show you like and park in front of that tank.     What will they think of next. 6 Projects HomeOwners Might Want to Reconsider and Avoid     I am adding a 6th remodeling or addition to avoid adding to your home.....A Swimming Pool.   Yes, they are a lot of fun and beautiful to look at but they also come with a lot of baggage to consider. Insurance is higher and libility greater, higher electric bills, and a weekly pool service. I have a pool in my home and I love it but not sure I would go to the expense to put one in. The buyers seem to reap the benefits as the sellers do not usually get all their money out that they put in. This list sometimes varies from state to state or even just the difference between urban and suburbia. So what do you think of my list? Consider the stats before starting a project. Autumn Leaves After a Rain Storm...and Tears Today we had a big rain storm and possibly thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow but late this afternoon I was headed into the hills behind Loma Linda and the trees were just beautiful.     Many leaves had fallen onto the ground and the colors were spectacular.     I have lived in this area for many years and raised my kids here. I got a little teary eyed thinking about what a nice community Loma Linda is and all the good memories here.
