No cemeteries for me.

I come from a military family.  I do not believe I need to visit a cemetery to honor those who served or even those that did not serve.

The honor for others is in my heart - not buried in the ground.

I did not. However, I spent about 30 hours since Thursday working at our Field of Honor® event. I helped set it up, tear it down, I led the opening ceremony, I spoke to military family members, veterans, and others about the event and their loved ones and the flags, etc etc. Visiting a cemetery is not a "must" in order to honor those who served.

My Veterans (family) are buried 500 miles North of me, so no cemeteries today or ever for me. We visit here several times per year: The Mount Soledad National Veterans Memorial and I celebrate by thanking my living-Veteran friends for their service and grateful Memorial Day isn't including them.

Well, we actually drove by a historic cemetery that was established in 1859. I wanted to show the historic area to our family members who were visiting. We celebrated our freedom with family. We did discuss our military and our gratitude.

I did not Will Hamm . My fathers grave is a long ways away from me, in fact I've never visited it. I will see him on the other side of life.

Every once in a while, randomly, the subject of what it cost to maintain the USA way of life comes and I show it its due respect & gratitude. I am always conscious of the fact that it is my turn to contribute in any way I can. I do

I go to cemeteries at least once a month because we clean and restore gravestones on a regular basis. We don't charge for cleaning and repairing veterans gravestones and monuments.

That's me on left in top photo and john Appell on right at a recent cemetery workshop in Frederick MD where we cleaned and reset several historic gravestones.
