It sometimes is a tsunami of things. Just have to refocus & remember why you are in this business which is to help people. You have to help people even when they are hurting their interests. When they are rude too.

Why do I exist in the kingdom of real estate instead of manning the Cin-a-bon kiosk at the mall?

Real estate. I discovered. was an excellent vessel to bring about transformational change in the lives of others. That is an incredible benefit.

I have not thought about it yet eventhough real estate has been very cut-throat in my area.   I love meeting people, talk to them, and help them sell or buy real estate.  There's no greater joy than to see how happy they are and how I have helped them.  I'm doing something good and contributing to society. 

Motivation of staying/leaving can be found in all sorts of things.  Reading tea leaves or something a bit more spiritual.  The ways for each person bring forth some many "discoveries".  

Dishonest Brokers.. solved by getting my Brokers license.

Paperwork (real paper of electronic)... I did not overcome this.

Never thought of it, I'm married to my broker.

Like anything when you have had your fill...you're done. Add too if missions have been accomplished you're done. Best approach? A well- balanced life

You have busy hours and quiet hours. One of the top agent who did 8 billion dollars headed for casino when not busy. He used slot machine as his office and calling clients.  40 years later he lives in a mobile home in Vegas. Broke from gambling .....

I go to the gym every morning at the crack of A$$ (dawn).... I've never had the thought of quitting !!  there's still plenty of time for that.... It's been 42 years now... I WILL quit someday...

Sometimes you get burned out and have thoughts of quitting. I have taken a 2 or 3 month hiatus 

I meditate ... a lot.  These days I am averaging 2-3 hours a day. No TV time ... just isolating myself from all the drama of any given day.  I've recently added 30 minutes of yoga to my morning routine. Life is Good. 

I have felt burn-out, and also frustration with clients, but give it a day, think of the positive aspects of this career choice.   I have never thought of actually quitting.

I considerered the alternative and it made me sad.

I don't think I've felt like quitting for more than a few hours max, maybe a few times over 20 years . . .

I always default to "I am powerful AF and will make this business and anyone crossing me my bitch. Whatever."

And lo, the bitches whatevered. LOL

My wife would like me to retire, and that would be the only reason to quit.

Unfortunately, I suspect that I would not do good without my work, so I keep going.

In 32 years I never thought of getting out of the business. Even during the recession down time I figured out how to keep our company afloat and do what we needed to do to help out our clients with short sales.

I started an Exclusive Buyer Brokerage office almost 30 years ago when representing buyers was considered taboo.  Almost every traditional office considered us the enemy as they tried their damnest to put us out of business.

We were spit on, cussed out, sued, tires slashed and bricks through our windows. We were not allowed to show property or submit offers.

To add insult, we were making no money and had to sell our house just to pay the bills. We were at a crossroads...

But, we were too pissed to quit...oh hell no!

I thank my refugee parents for my thick skin.  I suggest the same for you.

Here are my suggestions:

1. What do other agents have that you think you don't have?  Knowledge.  Go get some.  Read everything that you can including your RE books.  I guarantee that the more you know, the more you will earn.

2.  Stop telling people that you are a newbie...they will not have confidence in you until they think you have the answers.  There is no need to expose yourself that way...visualize yourself making tons of money.

3.  Take an honest look at what you are doing...I bet it is not enough. Make a list of all the marketing/promotion you could be doing and do them all.  You will feel better.

4.  Start blogging often and take the "free" on line classes...there are plenty of those on every subject related to RE. Blog about RE communities in your area or problems related to buying or selling.

By your question, I sense that you are bummed out...just stop it and start over...reboot.  RE can be a great business, if you stick with it.  Good luck.

Retirement.

The only time we've thought of quitting was a negative interaction with another agent - an interaction that potentially damaged our reputation. We prevailed, because we were in the right.

The phone stopped ringing, no lead or interest.  Then a lead comes in and all is forgotten.
