Since I have to ask what proximity marketing is, I guess I don't use them.

Sounds intrusive by your description. If people don't want the info & you push it to their phone - not good.

Hello Everyone,
There seems to be a misunderstanding and misconception regarding Proximity Marketing.
A beacon does not spam a smartphone with a notification. A beacon does not send an unsolicited email, text or push notification to a smartphone.
To receive the beacon signal several things have to happen with a users smartphone. (1) Bluetooth must be turned on (2) Nearby Notifications must be turned on meaning you are giving permission to receive a nearby message (3) The smartphone must be within a proximity of 250-300 feet of the beacon to receive the nearby notification (4) When the phone leaves the proximity of the beacon, the signal is no longer viewable.
I hope this clears up some of the confusion regarding this technology.

Like it or not, intrusive marketing is becoming the norm with the fast pace of technology. Especially since no one actually answers their phones anymore.
Cheers!

Yes, this is where Google and Facebook are headed with next gen marketing. This can be used in many different ways too depending on your niche. It is like the next level up from texting.
Right now, Google local has rolled out the opportunity for the searcher to call direct from your google local page and also to be able to text you!
Technology is moving forward faster than the speed of light!
Now, mix in AI and VR ---- you have some really robust ways to communicate.
Speaking of AI- FB was smart in launching the sponsored messages in FB Messenger and also non paid marketing. The AI innovators have already come up with the auto replies for AI and FB messenger.

My husband gaving it a try this past weekend for his pizza restaurant and sales were actually down. It's expensive and yielded negative results.

You send me an unsolicited intrusion on my phone and I will not be buying anything from you, but I may do something else if I catch you.
