Flexibility?

For a broader choice in products and sometimes better rates I recommend a mortgage broker for my clients except when I know only one or two lenders will provide the loan they need. Then going directly to that lender is best.

Hi,  Not at the bank I usually use.  The bank has local underwriters, get a quick turn around and I know that my loan officer is actually working with my client.  Union Bank is a local Vermont bank.  Sue Ryan is the best!

Mortgage brokers typically offer a wider selection of mortgage products than a loan officer at a bank. For that reason, my preferred lenders are mortgage brokers.

I think working with a reliable mortgage broker is better than the bank experience.

Big banks have a reputation of putting the kibosh on loans well into the process, putting all involved in the transaction into a difficult position.  

A broker can shop the loan to more lenders and potentially get your client a better deal

Mortgage brokers may have more choices.

Our favorite lender for our clients is an amazing mortgage broker who has a legion of loan possibilites to match up with the needs of the client, unlike many banks in town that are limited with what they have to offer.

My local bank stays with the clients all the way and then they also seervice the loan afterwards.  A mortgage broker gets the deal done and then the loan is turned over to someone else maybe in another state.

I have some preferred mortgage brokers. They seem to work best with my clients and provide more personal service.

This is kind of one sided for me, being a mortgage broker. Banks and credit unions have been sending me business for years, as we have many more loan products available.
