Born to a Baby Boomer (my dad) and Generation X (mom), I was born into the age known as the Internet Generation, or Net Generation. (The best one yet!)
All my life I have been exposed to cell phones, text messaging, music downloads, the Internet, and so much more than my parents dreamed of using at my age. (And still don't use even though it's available.)
My dad is a computer geek by profession and my mom is a computer geek for fun. I guess it's a given that I have a natural tendency towards computers.
My mom has been involved in marketing for almost my entire life. I have grown up listening to her talk to clients about what their "marketing needs" are and below are a few statements / questions I have engrained forever in my memory from hearing them over and over and over and over:
Content is king It's not the Field of Dreams, just because you built it doesn't mean people will come (I have yet to see this movie) Do you track where your leads come from? If you have no interest in tracking just give me all your money and never talk to me again (I really like this one) :-) Do you know where your traffic comes from? Do you blog? Being a RainMaker with ActiveRain is the cheapest SEO investment you will ever make Wordpress.org, not .com - don't use .com My daughter rocks (OK, I threw this one in here to make you laugh but she does say it)
