Living along the Midtown Direct Train Line has its benefits: Great food within a ten minute drive in any direction! I like to cook-sort of. We are fortunate to be able to sit down together as a family four/five nights a week.  Sometimes I make dinner. Sometimes my husband does. He is a much better chef...just ask him Last week, however, was special...it was my birthday!!! So I went out a lot with friends and family...a seven day celebration at my favorite restaurants having my favorite dishes:The Landmark in LivingstonSamurai Sushi in MillburnBasilico in MillburnRestaurant MC in MillburnLa Focaccia in SummitAntonella's in South OrangeNew Jersey Real Estate Wire highlights the most mouthwatering dishes at each place. If you are in the area and stumped for lunch or dinner suggestions, jus...

The town is comprised of beautiful neighborhoods on tree lined streets which cover the "short hills" of the Watchung Mountains. Millburn is comprised of the historic Wyoming district, and South Mountain and Millburn Center areas. Short Hills contains the sections of Knollwood, Glenwood, Brookhaven, Country Club, Merrywood, Deerfield-Crossroads, Mountaintop, White Oak Ridge, and Old Short Hills Estates. Ranked as having one of the top school systems in the state, Millburn schools have also received national ranking as having one of the most academically challenging high schools in the country.     MILLBURN-SHORT HILLSThe township was named "Millburn" in 1857, as a tribute to a local mill built on a stream, with "burn" being the Scottish name for "stream." Shortly after 1870, Stewart Hart...

Millburn - 150 Years Old this year!Incorporated on March 20, 1857, the Township of Millburn will celebrate its Sesquicentennial  anniversary this 2007. There have already been some really fun things offered under the banner  Celebrating the Past, Present and Future.      My son and I loved the June 9 Sesquicentennial Parade, though he seemed to develop a fever as the day wore on.  Still I'm really looking forward to the Town Ball on October 27, 2007 at the Hilton Short Hills.  Whoever heard of such a thing - a Town Ball?  Such fun.The next event is August 4, 2007 - Sesquicentennial Races and Pool Fun Day  (here's the committee's write up)Beginning at 10 AM, our own Gero Park, home to generations of Millburn-Short Hills Little League and Pee Wee football teams and the site of the newly-...
