Monday Motivation…I remember my grandfather always saying that something wasn’t worth a dime.  To a kid back in the day a dime was a really big thing, ‘cause if we got a nickel we were in tall cotton.I soon came to understand that if something wasn’t worth a dime it Wwas considered “Worthless”.  Seeing that my grandfather could have been considered quite opinionated at times there weren’t many things that were worth a dime.  Then I found this quote by Yogi Berra and it so fits today’s economy: “A nickel ain't worth a dime anymore.” Yogi Berra I haven’t gone back and researched what a nickel is worth today but when we used to be able to go to the movie, get a tall soda and a big bag of popcorn, and stay all day for just a quarter! I am thinking that a nickel isn’t worth a plug nickel. 03/06/2011

A simple survey, iPhone or Blackberry……..As fast as technology improves who has time to stay on top of all of it?  One thing for sure we need to be able to get the job done while being either in the office or on the road.  If not we will be playing catch up with our clients and customers.Two years ago I went out to the AR community and asked a question very similar to this question.  With over 200,000 members I am sure I can get a load of good information on my next phone.  Or is that smart phone?So my question to the community is to iPhone or not to iPhone., then If I go with the iPhone then which one, the 2g or 3g or 3gs?If I was to stay with the Blackberry then which one would you suggest?I am open to your ideas SO what say YOU? 03/06/2011

Sunday March 6th Dentist's Day…….Are you ready for this? Dentist's Day is a day to display a big, toothy smile. After all, your Dentist plays a role in that big, bright smile.  He or she is an important person in keeping your smile bright, and your teeth and mouth healthy.  My big toothy smile was lost when my wife introduced me to our cast iron skillet about a week after we were married.If my Dentist is such an important person, then why am I so scared of the next dental visit?  Is it perhaps the fear of discovering a cavity?  Maybe, he will find the beginnings of gum disease?  The fear of the dentist ranks right up there with.... the fear of pulling teeth! I have read that today is Multiple Personality Day……………And now I am beside myself who is also beside my other self.   Does this mean that when I talk of myself in the third person that I have this disorder? Multiple Personality Day is an opportunity to get in touch with all of you.Someone with a split personality has two personalities. Someone with multiple personalities has more than two personalities.  It’s a psychological disorder that I hope none of my readers have. Today March 4th is “Hug a GI Day”…….Today, and every March 4th, is a day that we all can get close and hug. It's "Hug a GI Day". Give a great big hug to any and all GIs you see today. The men and women in our armed forces deserve our thanks and appreciation.Our military men and women (GI's) perform an invaluable service to our country. They risk their lives for our freedom, and to keep us safe. A simple hug is a small thank you for this vital service to our country.Have you ever wondered what GI stands for?  The answer is: Government Issue. Today is March 3rd “National Anthem Day”.....The Star-Spangled Banner is the national anthem of the United States of America. Another weird/bizarre holiday, “No Brainer Day” will always fall on February 27th Having the choice of writing about the Polar Bear (yes they have a special day too) or “No Brainer Day” I decided to take the obvious topic. By definition, a "No brainer" is doing something that is simple, easy, obvious, and/or totally logical. Hoodie Hoo Day A Really Bizarre Holiday……..This is a young and bizarre holiday always celebrated on February 20th in the northern hemisphere.  In the southern hemisphere it will be celebrated on Aug. 20th.If you didn’t get enough hoopla on Groundhog Day then on this winter day, you can go out at noon, wave your hands over your heads and chant "Hoodie-Hoo".  There is nothing saying that you need to be in a top hat or even fully clothed.  Simply go outside at high noon, sounds like an old western, wave your hands over your head and shout “Hoodie-Hoo” to chase winter away and bring back spring.After all, everyone in the northern hemisphere, except William Feela, is sick and tired of winter at this point and a little crazy being cooped up inside all winter and not seeing the sun. 02/20/2011

Another wonderfully Weird Holiday……Today February 18th is National Battery DayWhen you look at it there are very few things that don’t either depend on a battery or it has a battery back-up.  Will the list ever stop?  My guess is probably not.  Batteries are used everywhere, from the battlefield to smoke alarms to headsets. They come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and power capacity, to fit a wide array of needs.We are all energized by the many uses and applications and today is an opportunity to celebrate this vital invention.  Just imagine where the world would be without batteries. We'd still be using a crank to start our automobiles. We'd have to cart around long extension cords to bring the boombox, is there such a thing anymore, to the beach. Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day......What a follow-up to yesterday, do a favor for a grouch day.  Always February 17th, and you know what to do...perform a few random acts of kindness.  Almost any kind deed will do.  It is highly recommend you perform kind acts on as many people as you can.This is a favorite day of many people.  I think it is because people like the idea of showing a little kindness to others. Do a Grouch a Favor today. Do it and make the world a better place.Everyone has been a grouch at one time or another. Not me, I plan on staying this way for a very long time.  Some people are seemingly grouches all of the time.  That’s me, the one with his hand up……It's in their nature.  You got that right…..…..Others are occasional grouches, influenced by events in their lives, lack of sleep, the weather, etc.  Why be an occasional grouch be when you can make more people miserable being that way all the time?  A few people are good at disguising their grouchy mood.  Not me, But you will know when I am a GROUCH, they still need cheering up.
