Falmouth Christmas Parade - Largest in Southern New EnglandThe 52nd annual Falmouth Christmas Parade is this Sunday, December 6. There is a new starting place this year.  Because of road construction, the parade will begin at the intersection of Dillingham Avenue and Davis Straits. All the staging and lining up will take place on Dillingham Ave, "behind" the Gus Canty building and north of the football/baseball field. Beginning at noon the parade will begin turning onto Davis Straits/Main St. and travel westerly to Main Street, ending up once again at the Village Green.This is the annual Falmouth Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade.  Parking downtown on Main Street will be stopped on Dec. 6 beginning at 8 a.m. That parking ban will continue until the parade concludes at approximately 2...

Cape Cod Marathon in Falmouth MA.This weekend is the running of the Cape Cod Marathon in Falmouth MA. This is a full marathon that circles the seacoast town of Falmouth, Massachusetts. With more waterfront that any other town in the country, Falmouth provides a scenic marathon opportunity.Cranberry boggs are also scenic this time of year, and Falmouth has many that the marathon route crosses or runs along side.  While not as popular as the Falmouth Road Race,which happens in August every year, the Cape Cod Marathon makes Falmouth a busy place this weekend. Cape Cod Real Estate Sales By Town - 2014 Graph Here are Cape Cod Real Estate Sales by Town Graphed. There are 15 towns on Cape Cod. They are: Bourne, Falmouth, Mashpee, Sandwich, Barnstable, Yarmouth, Dennis, Harwich, Brewster, Chatham, Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, and Provincetown.  Wareham and Plymouth would like to be part of Cape Cod, but they are on the North side of the Cape Cod Canal so most people now consider those towns "Off-Cape". Falmouth MA Pictures - January 2015 Snowstorm Juno Well, I thought they would name the latest/last snowstorm Bill or De-Flake or something in honor of bashing the Patriots football team.  Instead they named this storm after an Alaskan city - which turned out to be apropos. The pictures below are of main street in Falmouth this morning (January 29, 2015 - Juno).   While other parts of the country this far north get a lot of snow, Falmouth MA is most often spared big snowfalls.  We are usually protected by the island of Martha's Vineyard, the Gulf Stream, and the apparent magnetic pull on storms from Buzzards' Bay.
