You just never know what you're going to run across while you're on your way to an appointment.  As a born and raised city girl, I am still surprised by the wildlife that shows itself along the highway, but sadly a lot of that wildlife ends up in the middle of the road.  In the rural areas, it's not uncommon to see dead animals that have been hit and killed by a passing car.  But sometimes, one can escape that terrible fate.  Yesterday, on the way to a consultation, I was driving down a country highway toward my destination and I saw something quite large sitting smack in the middle of my lane.  Like most drivers, I positioned my wheels so that the object would stay between them when I passed.  At first it looked like a partially deflated ball, but as I drove up to the object, I realize... 11/21/2010

For those of you who attended the Spoonbread Festival here in Berea Ky, thank you. It was a great 3 day event with lots of food, music, dance and exhibitions. We all worried about the weather, it was damp but the rain missed us and everyone had a great time. It is estimated that 15,000 people were here for the event. At the spoonbread tent we served up 264 pans of spoonbread, the smell of food and laughter was every where. The event closed with a visit from Elvis, and this alone was worth the trip. If any of you are traveling on I75 this weekend, it would be worth your while to make plans to ease by exit 76 or 77. These are the 2 Berea Kentucky exits, for those that don't know, Berea is the arts and crafts capitol of Kentucky. This weekend, July 11th thru 13th , is the 27th Annual Berea Craft Festival. When you get of the exits just follow the signs, and don't worry about parking, you can take the shuttle from downtown or drive out to the event at Indian Fort Theater. Its easy to find, just follow the signs.  This year the festival has over 100 working artist from 20 states at work, there are roaming musicians for entertainment and great food.
