I was in Chatsworth, GA last week - it's in Murray County just east of Whitfield County here in North Georgia - and decided to swing by the Chief Vann House. I ask people who live in this area fairly often whether they have visited some of our local attractions or not - and it constantly surprises me how many have NOT been to the Chief Vann House! Here's the history: The Chief Vann House is called the "Showplace of the Cherokee Nation." In the 1790's James Vann, a Cherokee Indian, was a wealthy businessman and a political leader in the Spring Place area of what is now Chatsworth.
