Every time I've ever gone to an animal shelter, as I walk in the beautiful entrance I always think that I'd like to volunteer some times there each week. Then I get to the cages, and it seems the further the cage is from the front entrance, the more deplorable the conditions.  Thus I resign myself to getting my pets from the animal shelter but sending them a small donation each month, or taking them some old towels, instead of volunteering. Chula Vista, one of our South Bay cities, has been in the news lately because of deplorable conditions at the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility. Today it's being reported that the veterinarian who reviewed operations at the Facility and brought the conditions to the public, was fired yesterday. Hmmmmmm. The Facility is saying that it's just a coincid...

Low Interest Rates in 2009 for San Diego Home Buyers Home buyers in San Diego are enjoying the low interest rates in 2009. Many home buyers have been sitting on the fence for quite some time and many San Diego home buyers are saying yes in 2009. During the first month of January in 2009 I have noticed an increase in buyers looking into buying a home in San Diego. With foreclosures and short sales dominating many of the areas and price ranges the pickings are ripe. The interest rates being low allow a potential home buyer to have a lower monthly payment or buy a more expensive home. This basically means they can get more for their money or buy the same size home they have had their eye on and have a lower monthly house payment. I have worked with many San Diego first time home buyers and...

Buying a Home in Chula Vista There are many people buying a home in Chula Vista which is located in South Bay San Diego County California. One of the biggest real estate booms in the country was in Chula Vista East of the 805 in the 90’s and early 2000’s. There were many beautiful master planned communities going up which included EastLake, Rolling Hills Ranch, San Miguel Ranch, Otay Ranch, Lomas Verdes, Sunbow and more. In fact EastLake was voted Best Master Planned Community in all of San Diego County for 10 years straight and still running. Must be a nice place with that kind of winning record. Many of the home buyers buying a home in Chula Vista are AMAZED at what they can get for their money and equally AMAZED by the community itself. Chula Vista is one of the gems of Southern Cali...

When:  Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 8:00am. Where: Montevalle Park in Rolling Hills Ranch Entry fee: $15 per participant Each Participant Receives: Bib number Race day t-short Medal Goodie Bag Entrance into a drawing (must be present to win)   Now I admit it, I am completely new to the world of school-sponsored fundraisers.  My first child just made it to the rank of Kindergartener this last July.  We are both learning a lot about schooling.   Having minimal running experience (Coronado 15k) I may be a little naive, but this looks to be a greta event for a great cause.  I look forward to being a proud sponsor and hope that all parents will encourage their children to get out, get some exercise, and show some Mountian Lion Team Spirit!   We'll see you at the races!

San Diego Foreclosures San Diego Real Estate Blog The San Diego Foreclosure Market is heating up. 2009 will be a great year to buy a foreclosure in San Diego. The foreclosures are on the rise and many of the homes you have been seeing as short sales in San Diego County will soon be foreclosures in San Diego County. I have a great San Diego Foreclosure Search Tool on my San Diego Real Estate Web Site and the pre-foreclosures are massing. Some of the lenders have postponed their foreclosure evictions until early 2009 and the inventory is building and should be robust by the summer of 2009. When considering the purchase of a foreclosure you need an experienced REO Agent with an experienced REO Team. That’s where Dawn Lewis and her San Diego Foreclosure Team will help you find just the righ...

The San Diego Foreclosure Boom Fast growth comes to an end creating “The San Diego Foreclosure Boom”. The fast growth that we saw here in Southern California and particularly San Diego has come to an end. The skyscrapers in Downtown San Diego that were forever changing the city skyline form year to year have slowed to a snails pace and the ones that are still building wish they hadn’t. The new master planned communities that allowed so many families to achieve the dream of homeownership in beautiful well thought out communities with parks and pools and brand new schools. They grew from all parts of the county from the old ranches in Chula Vista to the big movie star estates in North County Coastal and inland a ways. Now that the fast growth is over where is the growth now? The growth ha...

San Diego Real Estate Blog Chula Vista Homes Under $200,000 Chula Vista has 26 homes for sale under $200,000. I searched the Chula Vista MLS today, January 14, 2009 and was pleasantly surprised to see that homes have become so affordable in Chula Vista. The homes were single family detached homes and came up in a search in Chula Vista Zip Codes 91910, 91911, 91913, 91914, and 91915. They ranged in price from $120,000 to $199,900 and varied in square footage between 696 square feet to 1,746 square feet. They had anywhere from 2 to 4 bedrooms and some of the homes had some great upgrades and yards. First time home buyers wanting to buy a home in Chula Vista under $200,000 should seriously take a look at what’s available. The interest rates are low and this could be the time to jump in and...

San Diego Real Estate Blog Chula Vista Makes Forbes Most Boring Cities First of all Chula Vista is the second largest city in San Diego County. It is also one of the most beautiful. Areas like EastLake have been voted Best Master Planned Community in San Diego County for 10 years running. That means better than any master planned community even coastal communities. I think that says quite a bit. I would question if the author has ever even been to Chula Vista. He notes that it’s between San Diego and Tijuana Mexico and that it’s usually in the news for border tensions. Chula Vista isn’t even on the border. That’s San Ysidro and Otay Mesa. The picture the author used for Chula Vista isn’t even Chula Vista. I think this guy needs to be writing for a much smaller audience or learn a little...

I don't know if anyone can agree with me on this since I'm not even sure that this is what really is going on. Lately I have been trying to figure it out but I just can't come to a conclusion. So far, this is what my thoughts and observations are. I don't know if I'm right or wrong, so if anyone has any thoughts on this, please share them with me! I would love to hear other points of views and understand it better. Chulavista, CA. You see $700,000 homes listed for $600,000 or less. Owners of these properties have tried to refinance their loans and as we all know, it is very hard to do this right now because property prices are much lower than what they were when they first got the loan. Banks can not refinance because they would be lending an amount of money that is higher than the actu...
