I interrupt my house updates to talk about real estate:)I haven't blogged much about this because being able to admit weakness is a weakness of mine. In moving to Florida and now watching our house come together little by little.... I left behind a rather successful real estate business.  By no m...

After my ho-hum post the other day, the universe decided to give me a little reality check, an attitude adjustment - a fresh perspective."Poor Tara... the roof-line on your new house isn't exactly, one-hundred percent what you might have designed yourself and you may need to eat ramen noodles onc...

It's been almost two weeks since I've posted an update... for various reasons.First, our progress was halted for quite a while as a result of the "problem" with our trusses/rafters.  There wasn't a problem with the beams so much as they were sent the wrong trusses altogether...  We were sent the ...

I wanted to (for no good reason) compare the size of our new house to some of the other houses Matt and I toured - and liked. And, while I...

We have exterior walls!!!  Our house is starting to look like something... something dark, cold, and ominous, but something.  (The post-hurricane-like markings on the front don't help in that regard.  Hopefully, this is the only time there will be spray painted words/numbers/symbols on our house....

I'll try to keep this half a little shorter.I'll start by saying that I went past our house yesterday and a whole team of guys were stacking concrete blocks into walls!  We were supposed to get a call Friday to set up a time to meet our superintendent, but instead we got an email saying the super...

Matt has meetings in New Jersey today (at the old Hertz headquarters) so we're about 1,300 miles too far away to swing by our new house to see if they've started arranging all of those concrete blocks into walls yet.So... while I'm sitting in the hotel lobby waiting for Matt to get done with work...
