Even for homeowners who moved into a new Douglasville house as recently as a few years ago, the pace of technological advance is such that it’s easy to lose track of many fledgling household products that use technology in new and useful ways. Whereas earlier introductions often qualified as little more than nifty, fun-to-mess-with gadgets, many newer arrivals are well worth looking into:· More than just a cold storage unit, some smart refrigerators can sport touchscreens that put recipes right there where the ingredients are kept. They allow grocery list inputting—and make online grocery ordering quick and simple. Once Douglasville users get used to the convenience, it’s easy to see why running the household kitchen with a dumb ol’ fridge may one day become a relic of the past.· Smart ...

The advantage that is tapped into when an owner decides to engage the services of a professional Powder Springs staging firm has been demonstrated time and again, so you’d think that most sellers would choose to claim that resource. Although no one tracks the Powder Springs statistics, you can bet that the majority of local sellers don’t even interview a professional stager, despite the proven value their service brings. That fact will come as good news for those who do—it creates an advantage that puts them ahead of the crowd. The reasons may include reluctance to grant the power to make decisions about how the property is to be presented to the buying public. After all, it’s THEIR house, not the stagers’! But most owners will agree that the whole point of hiring a pro is to take advant...

Todays Wall Street Journal has an article "Death Cleaning" Trend Pushes Aside Tidying Up.  That caught my attention because over the past three years I have sold 8 houses where the owner(s) had passed away and the Gentle Death Cleaning process was undertaken by the children in most cases. Of those 8 houses all 8 needed to be emptied; 6 needed repairs; and 2 needed a room tear down and build back. Three of the eight still had a mortgage loan and two of the sales there was a spouse left behind. There is the physical job of removing all of the items in the house and that includes looking at pictures and memorabilia which can be a slow emotional process. Then there are the legal things to do; getting Death Certificates from the County, contacting a mortgage company, going through any bills ...

Although Titus did not make a hole in the wall I thought Timmothy's cartoon was a good lead in to a problem many home owners would like to address... a hole in the wall and how to patch it.Personally I have always used a little DAP (brand) and a putty knife if necessary.  This is fine if it is a small nail hole but larger holes in a textured wall may require a little more skill. In doing a little research for this post I came across another solution that had great reviews. You can click on the picture above to read the reviews and also check out the 2 videos. The 2nd video is more helpful than the 1st.
