Retiring is something I never really considered.  Slowing way down is a different story.   But seeing that some of my new friends here have retired or are considering retirement makes me wonder.I wonder what in the world would I do?Travel? Yes !  But what would I do when back from travel?  Keep traveling?  Who would feed my cats?  Would I miss my daughter and grand son too much?  I certainly can't watch sports all day long.  And Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, I have already watched them both, start to finish a few times.I guess I need a hobby.  Fishing appeals to me but I stink at it.  And it is not a 12 month hobby here in NJ.This August, I will begin my 41st year in real estate.  I guess I need a plan.  A 10 year plan!

When we grew up Friday Dinner was always a variety of fish. The standard meal was fried fish and fried potatoes.Well as you know I try to make dinners healthier than my parents did. So here it is baked potatoes, baked cod, baked Marylin style crabcakes and baked carrots.Homemade Tartar Sauce the only thing not homemade is the cetchup but only Diane uses it:) and if you are wondering the lemon is from the backyard. In all fairness I had a true Real Estate Day, and this was the quickest easiest meal to put together on a Friday Night. Hope you will appreciate a simple not gourmet but fun dinner. Easy to make Fish from Trader Joe's, Crabcake from Wild Fork and potatoes from Ralph's/Kroger.Wishing you a relaxing and productive Real Estate Weekend.   Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I l...

This Week…It’s a Smorgasbord! It’s been that kind of week…snow in Colorado and 80 degree temps in Houston!  While those in the north shovel snow, we’ve been hosing off enough yellow pollen to cover a field. Luck is a very thin wire between survival and disaster, and not many people can keep their balance on it. Hunter S ThompsonOn Tuesday we had our longest and most enthusiastic Zoom Call since our weekly get-togethers began in 2020 thanks to ActiveBrad!  It was over 2 ½ hours!! Never iron a four-leaf clover because you don’t want to press your luck. Irish Proverb Finally, tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day, when everyone who wants to be is Irish!  I must have been in a previous life because I love the sound of bagpipes. Be still and know that I am. During the pandemic, my state did not consider Real Estate an essential business. Therefore, Real Estate Offices were closed, and we could not show houses. Some agents tried to sell them virtually, but that was different from how to sell a house. People needed to walk inside and get a feeling. Plus, I felt that buyers would rush once the ban was lifted, and the prices would go up, and I was right. My sellers trusted me and waited. Meanwhile, I could not post on Active Rain for some strange reason. Then I heard wonderful, exciting news: A Zoom session would happen. Finally, I could communicate with my Active Rain family. It was so enlightening to see and speak to my dear friends. Best of all, we decided to meet again the following week.  Thus, the birth of Active Rain Weekly Zoom Session...

It's truly remarkable to witness the early emergence of our Texas Bluebonnets this March. The warmth embracing Central Texas seems to be coaxing them into bloom ahead of schedule.Dating back to March 1901, when six native species of Bluebonnets were officially designated as our Texas State flower, the history of these vibrant blooms is as rich as their hues. Exploring Texasproud.com reveals the captivating tale behind our beloved Bluebonnets.Amy Medley, the lead horticulturist at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, sheds light on an interesting phenomenon: Bluebonnets tend to make their appearance even earlier in urban areas, thanks to the radiant heat emitted by concrete surfaces.Traditionally, the grand spectacle of blue fields blankets the landscape by early April. This is the t...

It’s mid-March and we’ve all sprung our clocks ahead for longer days and more sunshine. What better way to enjoy the additional sunlight than to get outside and explore? Although the Pocono Mountains offer year-round activities for the bravest of nature enthusiasts, many of us wait to emerge until the weather breaks for the season. With spring looming in front of us, it’s time to make lists of all of the great outdoors spaces to visit across the region in the coming warm months. One place to add to your must-see list while visiting the Poconos is the Thomas Darling Preserve in Monroe County, PA. Named for nearby Wilkes Barre native naturalist Thomas Darling Jr., this preserve boasts one of the biggest and healthiest spruce forests in the entire state. The Preserve features 2,500 acres of...

Friday Fun…Which One? After reading Michael Jacobs’ Pi(e) Pondering Post, my thoughts were on pie…the edible version.  However…what would I want? Sweet or savory? Pie (any kind) or Pizza with everything (make mine with anchovies) If I could have only one I’d choose pie. However the conundrum then becomes what kind of pie…apple, pecan (a Texas favorite), chocolate cream, peach, blueberry.  So many choices! So…what would you choose?

Friday Flags Outside Richmond VAOur drive back to CT last weekend was uneventful which was most appreciated. I stopped outside Richmond as I didn't want a 14-hour drive. As we pulled into the hotel lot, the flutter of their flag was obvious. It was also pretty clear that this flag has seen better days, which is something I mentioned to the registration assistant.Whether they do anything about it will not be known by me. At the very least my last road flag was waving heavily as if to let me know it was a great vacation.Friday Flags Outside Richmond VA

The snow totals vary across the City, but the foothills are racking it up!   Near Central City tops it with nearly FOUR FEET.   Here is a photo from Black Hawk - WOW!  Denver International Airport hasn't gotten as much as the south part of town.   Some of southern parts have two feet right now.   I have about 13.5".   My HOA pays for snow shoveling, and got 7 cups of hot chocolate out for those boys!  Parts in Southern Denver have two feet! Here's another photo from Evergreen -  news said they got 30+ inches so far! With this wet and heavy snow is bringing down some power lines, so there are 50,000+ homes without power right now.    There are many crews out to get power back on again. It isn't that cold - about 30-35 degrees, so now the snow on the streets is turning to slush, and will ice...

I've got a couple of redemption codes (10 to be exact) to give away for my audiobook — I'd love to give them to you guys but there's a small caveat...It's redeemable through a Spotify link (not sponsored)...... so you'd have to be using Spotify to take full advantage. But other than that, it's the full audiobook, absolutely free. That's it. I've placed one code in the comments section if someone wants to test it out.Comment below if you'd like a code! And please let me know what you think about it after you give it a listen. I'd love to get feedback.

A bus coming from Ski area is not going anywhere, I-70 was shut down from Silverthorne to Golden and so many people sleeping in their cars.  The bus has 50 females on it and they slept on the bus and it been since 4 yesterday afternoon. My granddaughter was flying back to college in Steamboat Springs yesterday and plane could not land because of fog and ended up in Denver so I pick her up and she is spending at least two day with us.  I am all for it.  DIA airport has 850 cancel flights so far and 37 delayed.  I been out with my snow blower and did my driveway and two neighbors and walks.  I still have a couple to do later.  We are to get another 12 inches yet today.  I had 8 inches at my house so far.

When most people think of being or getting healthy the image of gyms and perfect bodies come to mind but very few people actually do go to the gym and very few people look like Venus or Adonis yet they can be healthy in what ever body they are in.My body still looks pretty good but I've had two or three heart attacks, been diagnosed as having sever osteoporosis, and osteoarthritis, as well as having back issues since I was a teenager. That being said I feel pretty healthy aside from the pain of my recently torn rotatory cuff. How can that be?I feel good mentally and spiritually. One key to that is listening to my bodies needs and at the top of the list is getting enough rest to let my body heal and deal with all the issues of aging and past abuse.Do I rest more then I want to... hell yes...
