The Gallactic Guardians of Timekeeping Susi, a real estate agent in a small town, detested the time change and wasn’t one bit shy of expressing the contempt she held for the twice-a-year interruption that invaded her sleep. She shared her disdain with government officials in her state, also sent a letter to the President!    The Gallactic Guardians of Timekeeping decided to treat her to an all-expense paid, one-hour staycation in an effort to thwart her thinking. She could order anything and it would suddenly appear at her house. At 2:00am, the clock flipped back to 1:00am and the party began.    The doorbell rang and 10-extra large, loaded pizzas were handed over by the delivery driver, a DJ rolled up behind him along with an auto-engaged confetti blower plus 20 of Susi's closest frien...

Two days ago I was able to turn my horses out on a beautiful pasture and investment property we own just outside of La Grange TX. I haven't been able to use it to graze my horses for a number of years due to a lease agreement we had, that went south with the tenant abusing the agreement and the land by over grazing it.  We had to terminate our relationship with that tenant and we have given the property time to rest and it is now back to being a robust pasture perfect for rotational grazing for my horses.  At  our home in Fayetteville  they spend 12 hours in the barn and 12 hours on pasture.  I took some video of them once we unloaded them to share how beautiful it is for them to stretch their legs on this amazing acreage we own.    This is a great opportunity for them to just be horses...

I love seafood and pasta! They are my favorite meals to prepare and enjoy!I'm sharing this so I can find it and make it myself soon. I will make home-made fettuccini when my hand heals enough to do so and I will probably use fresh tomatoes. Titus pretty much sums up me today. It's Monday and I am out of sync. Since my "main" computer at work as well as my main computer at home are too out of date to read my Yahoo emails it's a challenge for me to keep up. The Yahoo update came around last month so unless I want to go out and buy new computers with win11 on them I'm going to have to switch back to gMail or one of my many other accounts.  I hope Yahoo is losing a butt load of customers over this.

Moving Notice!  On handkerchief!  Unusual??  I stumbled across a large stack of old vintage handkerchiefs a few weeks ago. It startled me to find this one!  Someone had evidently used handkerchiefs to announce their move.  I'd never seen that before.  Here's a picture of the whole hanky.  It was Earl Bernard who was moving to 35 West 39 Street in New York, NY.  I wish it had a date.  The artist was, I guess, Gale.  That's the name at the corner.

This is my 3rd entry for the March 2025 Challenge: This Is Who I Am, dedicated to my Mom.  My mom was an autodidact. When I grew up, my mother didn't talk much about her childhood, except how difficult it was for her during the Great Depression.Historical Time Period. My mother was three years old when the Great Depression began (1929-1939). She grew up in Chicago, just like me. WW11 started in September 1939 and ended on September 2, 1945. One thing that was very clear to me, is that her parents and five siblings were a tight-knit family. My grandpa was one of many who stood in breadlines in Chicago for food. Food aid came from Al Capone. Formal education was not possible. She played kick-the-can outdoors or used her imagination using sticks and stones. After mom got married to my dad, s...

Here is entry number two to the March challenge sponsored by Patricia Feager and Lew Corcoran.I attended a large junior high school and in the sixth and seventh grades was gliding through with little effort. The eighth grade looming, the assessment was of the 9 classes only one had a difficult teacher, Louis Rubidoux. So the chances of cruising through the eighth grade were high until I was assigned to the Mr. Rubidoux's room. Not good from my point of view.My first report card was terrible and my Dad had to meet with Louis Rubidoux personally. Again, at the time, not a good thing. My Dad came home and told me he was not disappointed but he would be if I did not take this as a wake up call and change my attitude and work ethic by the next report. He liked Mr. Rudioux but could not prono...

A plan is always successful if the plan is good. You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will.Expect the best. Prepare for the worst. Capitalize on what comes. The first step in solving a problem is to recognize that it does exist.Failure is a detour, not a dead-end street.

Regardless of age, education, or who you are, we all make an intentional or unintentional impact on others. Through our words, actions, emotions, verbal and non-verbal behavior, others take notice.   This story is about the hardest and most meaningful job. Before working at Abbott Laboratories, then becoming a REALTOR®, I worked for four years at S.E.D.O.L (Special Education District of Lake County, Illinois) during the school year. When school was out for the summer my kids and I went to Maine. I worked as a Bookkeeper and my kids were campers, CIT (camper-in-training) and Counselor.  Prior to that, I taught Head Start.  The story I am about to share changed my life forever. I worked exclusively with Judy as her Teacher’s Aid and another Teacher whose students were older. What Judy tau...

It is my understanding that the Wisconsin April Election in 2025 will have some very important things to consider.1. Voter ID will be voted on as a state constitutional amendment.2. A Supreme Court race.1. In My Opinion, Adding Voter ID to the vast list of permitted activities, events, services, etc., that already require an ID to participate in will help calm those who question the validity of future Wisconsin elections. Wisconsin can put the discussion about what IDs are required for in all areas except voting behind them and focus on more important issues. In my opinion, a vote against this amendment will cost the state more money in legal fees as future disputes arise.  A vote in favor of the amendment will help assure Wisconsin will be come one of the leaders in improving their vot...

It took me quite a while to find the woman with whom I wanted to raise a family with (I was in my 40's) and maybe I should rephrase that to it took me a long time to find a woman who was willing to put up with me and risk having children like me. 😊Prior to Carol I never even wanted to have children, in fact, we originally thought we would be fine without any kids around. Now I wish I had four or more as they have brought us tremendous joy.As a younger man, let's say in my 20's, my sister insisted I would be a great dad. She based this on the fact that I was very good at raising dogs. I didn't see it the same way BUT it ends up she was right. This past week was "Spring Break" for Carols school and it worked out for Tina to come up from Omaha and along her way she picked up Carol's sister ...

Motivational Monday…A Different Point of View Have you ever looked at a room in your home trying to decide how you could redesign or reinvigorate it? But as hard and as long as you looked, the room stayed the same and your mind was blank.  That happened to me years ago when I wanted to revamp the kitchen/breakfast area. Per Larry, I could do or add what I wanted but I couldn’t knock down any walls. (he knew me all too well)One day I was standing in the kitchen on the countertop cleaning the area above the cabinets. I looked out over the area and eureka! The answer was right in front of me!  What I needed was to change my position when looking at the room…a change in perspective. Simple, right?!  Sometimes it’s just a matter of physically changing our position. Harder yet are the times wh...
