During my last visit to Door County, WI I came across this wonderful House of Sticks.Located on Horseshoe Bay Road, just south of the town of Egg Harbor, this historic farm is also home to a unique piece of artwork called the Happy Go Lucky. Happy Go Lucky is a house comprised of sticks from native maple, oak, and ash trees. The sculpture is 32 feet in diameter and 18 feet high. It is expected to last 2-3 years.Next time you are in Door County make it a point to stop by and visit Horseshoe Bay Farms and walk through the Happy Go Lucky sculpture. But please do not huff and puff or you may blow the house down. Joe Domino is a Realtor® serving the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. Your 20s and 30s are the time to figure out what you want to do and build a foundation to set your future up for success. Start today with these 5 things to do to make the life you envision. 1. Live Below Your Means and Manage Debt Consider every purchase, big or little, that you make in order to prevent overspending and creating debt. Buying things we think we need to keep up with others or to find momentary happiness will backfire when it comes to financial goals.    High interest credit card bills and student loans will also jeopardize those financial goals. Make a plan early to pay off debt and free up your finances to create a firm foundation to grow.  2. Start To Build Your Wealth Make a financial plan for the long-term when it comes to building wealth and meeting your financial ...

It’s the last week of school and the new Safety Patrol group has been chosen! Starting on Monday they began their training so next year they will be in place to take over. Beautiful Beckett is so proud to be chosen and was thrilled several of her best friends were too. It means getting up earlier to be at school but she is excited and knows it just goes with the position.                       “Action springs not from thought, but from a readiness for responsibility.”  Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Wordless Wednesday…A Lite Remodel Larry did a lite remodel on one of our bluebird boxes out at Kickerillo. BACKSTORYLast month, we had 5 adorable bluebird chicks in the box. And just like that they disappeared overnight.  There were no feathers or indications of any kind of struggle around the box. We are guessing that a snake took them all.  Since the mating season is winding down, we decided to leave the nest there to make it easier for mama bluebird to start another brood. Before we could blink, she’d laid 5 beautiful blue eggs in the box.   THE REMODELUnlike our bluebird box at home, the boxes at Kickerillo do not have baffles which help to keep out squirrels and other predators.  So yesterday, Larry hatched (sorry for the pun) a plan to perform some quick surgery on the box. He gen...

Happy World Turtle Day! Back on May 23, 1990, American Tortoise Rescue, a nonprofit organization formed to protect all species of turtles and tortoises, founded the first  World Turtle Day. The day was created as an annual observance to help people celebrate and protect turtles and tortoises and their disappearing habitats around the world. Susan Tellem and Marshall Thompson, the founders of American Tortoise Rescue, advocate humane treatment of all animals, including reptiles.  Since 1990, ATR has helped place about 4,000 tortoises and turtles in caring homes. ATR assists law enforcement when undersize or endangered turtles are confiscated and provides helpful information and referrals to persons with sick, neglected or abandoned turtles.  The African Spurred Tortoise featured above i...
