At that time, the filing deadline was March 1. Speechless Sunday: Double Done's with a few extras... I have always had extra food to prepare for a later meal. Needless to say, I made baked potatoes and kept them in the fridge for making a different meal.Well today I thought it would be fun to use my left-over baked potatoes as "Double Dones" and add the leftover vegies from the other day to it. Now with that said I needed to have some meat with it as well. Yes our new favorite chicken sausages were added and it was a total success. So with that said what did you have for dinner tonight? BTW for some reason my actual photos are not working so these photos were from a previous time but the same meal. Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Motivational Monday…Free Spirit Have you ever watched someone doing something you wished you had the nerve or courage to do?  One thing about our morning walks is that you never know what or who you’ll see. When we walked along the beach in Delray we would see a woman dancing as she walked. It was beautifully elegant! One day, I stopped her and told her how much we enjoyed watching her as she danced along A1A.  Martha (the dancer) was a real estate agent but her hobby was ballroom dancing.   I admired how she was comfortable in her own skin and could dance along the beach without regard for what others might think.  We see another free soul on Sundays when we walk at Meyer Park. She may not be doing ballroom dancing but she’s out there moving to the music and enjoying herself.           ...

Blooms A Poppin in Prospect CTSpring is starting to show signs of its presence here in Prospect, CT and a welcome sight it is.I was walking up the driveway and took a look at the front yard and the blossoms that are displayed.  It made me smile for its depth of color and it was mainly the daffodils.Even the hyacinths that were barely showing a week ago, were standing high.Closer to the driveway, where I had a tree removed, the daffodils are filling in nicely. In the back yard, the hedge of forsythias are almost at full bloom, and with it will come the pollen that signifies spring for those that suffer from allergies. Not quite three as yet are the mountain laurel with it's pinkish-red color. We are supposed to have warmer weather this week so these colors will certainly progress well.It is...

My latest version of a corn chowder with clams... I have been a huge fan of fresh corn and other ingredients to make the Chowder. This time I decided instead of the canned minced clams why not go with the Wild For clam meat version. All I can say is once you switch to this you will never go back to the canned minced clams. You can actually taste the clams, and it was a hit. Tonight's easy dinner, since I had a really challenging day. Some day I might post about it. In the mean time enjoy the Clam/Corn Chowder. Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Just for fun: I do not mind sharing our oranges with the Squirrels what I mind is if they are wasting the oranges.Well, see for yourself.I make fresh squeezed orange juice every other day and Diane I love drinking it. Now days here to get a quart like I squeeze can cost anywhere from $5.99 to $8.99 and for me it is 20 minutes, worth of work. I hate waste, I guess I grew up with parents who were born before or during the depression and I learned to be frugal about certain things.Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Stretching Back in Time: The Origins of the Seventh-Inning TraditionBaseball, America’s beloved pastime, is steeped in tradition. From the crack of the bat to the smell of freshly cut grass, every aspect of the game carries a sense of nostalgia. One such tradition that has endured for over a century is the seventh-inning stretch. But where did it come from, and why is it so ingrained in our baseball experience? The Taft Myth and Brother Jasper’s InfluenceThe most famous origin story involves none other than President William Howard Taft. On April 14, 1910, during an opening-day game in Washington, D.C., Taft—weighing in at a hefty 300 pounds—stood up to stretch his legs in the middle of the seventh inning. The crowd, thinking he was leaving, rose out of respect. And just like that, the s...

Carlsbad Flower Fields Up Close I attended a CRS Networking Event with 25 other Southern California Realtors this past Thursday for a couple of hours at the Carlsbad Flower Fields.  It was fun to see my CRS friends as well as to meet other agents I didn’t know. There was time to talk with each other before taking a tour. After the group photo we split up into small groups to leisurely walk through the gardens, and of course take lots of photos.  While I have often driven by the Flower Fields on Armada Drive on the hill above to the east which offers great panoramic views of the flowers and the ocean, I haven’t seen the flowers and the venue itself up close for years.   It was a sunny day with a cool ocean breeze, although the marine layer moved in before the event was over so it was pre...
