I can’t resist articles, reports, or any data presented in text format that relates to psychology or some kind of psychological process or characteristic. So the article with the above title definitely caught my eye and made me stop and read.According to the article, what determines someone’s level of life satisfaction, or how meaningful and rich they find their life to be, is a patchwork of components. But new research shows that a key element to being more satisfied with our social bonds, career, and life overall lies within our personality. The article notes that people who are more emotionally stable, or have a low level of neuroticism, are more likely to have a higher level of life satisfaction than those who don’t, according to the American Psychological Association. What is emoti...

I recently starting using ChatGPT to see what it was all about.  At this point it seems to offer a little more insight than Siri, but can offer a lot of information.  Here is what it had to say to describe the area where we manage condos.  Does it properly describe your location and business?Kolea at Waikoloa is a luxury resort community located in the Waikoloa Beach Resort area on the Big Island of Hawaii. It offers a collection of upscale vacation rentals, including villas and townhomes, along with a range of amenities and access to the beautiful surrounding area.Kolea is known for its prime location near Anaehoomalu Bay (A-Bay), which features a stunning sandy beach and offers various water activities such as swimming, snorkeling, and stand-up paddleboarding. My robot vacuum is nice and I appreciate that it keeps the dust and dirt off the floor since I enjoy walking around my home barefoot, haha. It doesn't seem very smart at times and even though I think it is supposed to learn and get better over time, I don't see it happening. I was going to make a joke about it, but I will refrain since I know a lot of the readers get offended fairly easily these...

This is the link to the IMDB movie below.https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6587094/ It was on Netflix as one that was recommended. I dont always go for using the recommended features but this one was interesting. It was released in 2017 doing a search on wiki came back with a 1939 drama with the same name. They mention many movies "Mrs. Miniver" directed by William Wyler along with "Best Years of our lives" which featured Veterans returning home from the war and their families. I imagine there are great reviews of this movie "5 came back" but the demo made me want to watch it.They mention "why we fight" a seven movie series.  Wiki explains the series this way" Why We Fight is a series of seven propaganda films produced by the US Department of War from 1942 to 1945, during World War II."  dir...

Zoom Call with Carol Williams  Knowing When It's Time to RetireThe Zoom call this week was presented by Carol Williams and was a combination of preparing for retirement. and adapting to the situations that life presents as well.As Carol described her transition it was thrust upon her to attend to her ailing husband.  With the pause, she essentially was away from the day-to-day operation of her businesses for over 18 months and during that period, she eased herself away from the day to day and as she had 2 separate business entities, she had a ready brand looking to acquire her business at an amount that allowed her to address other areas. Our real estate business offers flexibility that is not common to other businesses. As such we have the ability to control how we work, when we work, ...

San Mateo, CA:  Here's the scenario:  Your efiled tax return gets rejected by the IRS because your social security number has already been used on a filed tax return--now what?  (this will be the subject of a future article!).Well, let's back up a little bit---what can YOU DO NOW to protect yourself from tax scammers stealing your social security number?  Answer: IRS ID THEFT PIN PROGRAM.Taxpayers can go online, verify their ID to the IRS and obtain a 6 digit PIN number that must be recorded on their efiled tax return in order to get processed.  Without the PIN number, the efiled return is automatically rejected. Thus, scammers that steal your ID and social security number to file a fraudulent return and get federal tax credits using your name will be BLOCKED immediately from doing so.Fo...

In the fast-paced world of real estate, headlines about market crashes tend to grab everyone's attention. However, it's important to dig deeper and understand how these fluctuations truly impact individual home buyers, sellers, and residents of the DC metro area. Today, we dive into the micro-market of Northern Virginia, where recent developments in the debt ceiling negotiations, interest rates, and inflation adjustments have the potential to shape our summer housing market.Ideally, a balanced market requires more than three months of inventory and a steady interest rate hovering around 5%. While this may sound like a dream, it's crucial to be a little selfish, especially if you're a home buyer with long-term goals in mind. Instead of getting caught up in short-term gains or losses, foc...

What is my favorite spring flower? It is very hard to choose they are all so beautiful I love them all. Debe Maxwell, CRS  challenged us to write about it. April and May have been very dry months for us in the Philadelphia area. It was more like June and July as far as temperatures go. I hope that doesn't mean we are going to have a rainy Summer. Who knows the weather has been so unpredictable.  Not many of my indoor plants survived the winter except my orchids which have not bloomed yet. I am sure they will soon as they look very healthy. My Ponytail Palm is now sitting outside and is extremely hardy healthy and happy.    My Petunias are one of my very favorites as they are hardy in our climate but also need a great deal of water. They also come in many varieties and colors. I like to ...

"The Earth laughs in flowers." -Ralph Waldo EmersonAlthough I always answer "Fall" when asked what my favorite season is, I genuinely love Spring. Who doesn't love the floral fiesta created by the combination of April Showers and the warmer temperatures the month of May brings? Watching the daily progress as the plants come out of dormancy and come alive again is such a joy.I don't have the green thumb my husband did. His daughter Lisa inherited that from him. This year Lisa, who has a degree in floral design, came over and filled my flower pots with color bombs. We also planted some tomatoes and three baby Clematis plants.  My absolute favorite plant that announces the arrival of Spring is my purple phlox. It is always the first thing to bloom out in my small yard. Another favorite is ...
