It has been a busy spring in my neck of the woods. First and most importantly, the real estate market is buzzing! I am very thankful that things are ramping up with both buyers and sellers. And, like the seasons, we all know that real estate cycles up and down constantly. But, let's talk about bees! 🐝  Liz and Bill Spear, are beekeepers and I have watched from afar some of their posts on their beekeeping adventures. I appreciate Bill's willingness to be a resource.I became interested in beekeeping a few years ago. I began watching videos and purchasing some books. I have done my homework. I also got to know some local beekeepers here in my area.I decided that this was the year to dive in! After ordering my bees in January, during my "wait" time, I invested in purchasing the needed tools ...

Here is the DC area, many buyers steer away from cooperative buildings. Usually it has something to do with the ground rules for living in the complex. Oh, and there is also a usually pleasant meeting with to members of the coop Board who must approve your purchase. Still, some of the most desirable units in the area are located in coops, and most are worth the potential hazards inherent in the process for buying. Some of my favorites include Tilden Gardens, The Westchester, The Broadmoor and the iconic Watergate - and there are many more. Right now, there are 100 coops for sale in Northwest Washington, with prices ranging from an affordable $135,000 for a 525 square foot 1-bedroom near Logan Circle, to a high of $3,795,000 for a 4,640 square foot duplex penthouse in the Watergate.  Her...

Zoom Call  4.23.24   Dick Betts Who's Moving to the VillagesThe Zoom call this week was a continuation of the offerings of Dick Betts and the activities in the Central FL community known as The Villages.Dick leads a team of agents that have proven very successful, and he has developed a system in his 14 years since moving to FL that should make him the premier buyer's agent in the area for the Villages.  He has also started the process of getting identified by the state's MLS as the recognized buyer's agent for the area. His marketing process is simple with blogging and a Facebook page for his team. Simple posts on the activities of the Villages and the various clubs within the community get him phone calls. As an example, he described a transaction for a $400,000 purchase that came from ...

There are a lot of things going on in the world and in our lives as well. I had to share my thoughts with you tonight. I have three Escrows, that I am trying to keep together and as you know there are challenges to deal with and at the same time trying to list new properties and market twelve other listings can be challenging at times. Then to boot, there are many distractions going on in the US as well as in the world. Just to name a few, an Ex President who is fighting a lot of legal issues. This made me think, how insignificant my issues are compared to his.As, I read the headlines about potential Nuclear Wars, thanks to things going on in Ukraine & Russia as well as in the Middle East as in Israel and Iran.Putting all this in perspective, made me think that I do not really have any ...

I will admit to being an unsophisticated old country girl. So perhaps that is the reason why this question I found on LinkedIn has me baffled. What the heck are they saying here? Can someone explain it? Or answer it? What do you do if your innovative contributions on your resume need quantifiable impact?

Greetings from Crested Butte Colorado! Contrary to what many assume Crested Butte's real estate market continues to improve and the trend is not great if you've been sitting on the sidelines expecting the market to retreat. A quick study of our year-over-year performance reveals that price and value are rising, the inventory of available residential properties remains low and high mortgage interest rates do not appear to be impacting us negatively.   During the first quarter of 2023 our local market realized just 11 single family home sales which equated to $18.6 million in volume. The median sold price of a home was $1.585 million.   During the first quarter of this year, our local market hit 18 single family home sales and just over $48 million in sales volume. But the most revealing...

As most of you who read my posts, we have been supporting the Los Angeles Festival of Books for the past 24 plus years. We missed the first two and then we became loyal supporters year after year. Yesterday we went and you can read my post of what I thought. Now with that said we did not go this year the second day, like we always did two days in a row. Ironically, I had an easy day with real estate today.Well, not to dwell on it here are a few Fotos that I did not post yesterday. No matter what I wish you a wonderful week ahead and if you have time enjoy reading books. Please buy and read books. Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Today at 2:00 pm local time I am presenting a Zoom meeting to Realtors across the country, the topic “Who’s Moving to The Villages”.  The Zoom session is a weekly feature presented by ActiveRain the largest Real Estate blogging site in the world.  ActiveRain is where I started my blogging career in 2007 and now share on 10 other platforms.  I was surprised they invited me back for another Zoom as last time some participates asked about the “folklore” surrounding The Villages, of course I did share a few of the false rumors!Anyway, this is mostly for my Facebook Page followers, many of you have moved here from somewhere else and some of you are planning on moving here in the future.  The question is why?  The weather, the 55+, low taxes, the 40 recreation centers, the 93 pools, the over ...
