A champion is crowned No. 24-seeded Miller Park upends No. 3 AT&T Park in championship Updated: June 22, 2012, 10:20 PM ET By Jim Caple |  Email Print ESPN.com IllustrationMiller Park defeated AT&T Park by a sizable margin in the championship. The electoral college finally makes sense to me. Our Battle of the Ballparks Bracket is complete, and the upset winner over Camden Yards, Fenway, Wrigley, PNC, AT&T and all the others is Milwaukee's Miller Park. Well, it's an upset winner based on its No. 24 seed. It's not such an upset winner if you've been following the votes over the past week. That's because the passionate fans of baseball's smallest market overcame the odds by getting out the vote for their favorite stadium. While other fans might have taken their matchups for granted, the ...

Time to crown a champion Baseball's best park? It's No. 24 seed Miller Park vs. No. 3 AT&T Park for the title Updated: June 22, 2012, 4:32 PM ET By Jim Caple | ESPN.com 13K 1K 3K Email Print ESPN.com IllustrationMiller Park knocked out some heavyweights (Camden Yards, PNC Park) to reach the championship. Thanks to the wonders of social media, it comes down to this: Your finale for baseball's best ballpark pits a privately funded retro-park that offers gorgeous views of San Francisco Bay, McCovey Cove and Matt Cain, plus the aroma of garlic fries and the taste of microbrews, against a stadium with the feel of an airline terminal that also features races between people in giant sausage costumes. Guess which will win. That's right. Based on the way Milwaukee has gotten out the vote -- I t...

When people leave Wisconsin...when they come back home....when they come here to make Wisconsin their home...one of the things they love is the cultural melting pot atmosphere....and the variety of food that comes with the multiplicity of ethnic cultures we have throughout the area.    One of the places that is a tradition to visit...to snack...to experience the "best of the wurst" is Usinger's Sausage Company....rumored to be run by elves....and a family tradition for over 125 years.  Fritzie.....one of the hardworking elves who makes sure that the  Deli is well stocked has lots of variety in his many deli-lectable recipes. From hot dogs like no other, pork sausage to grace your brunch table...or a selection of ham, knockwurst, bratwurst, summer sausage....and sooo much more...a visi...

Wisconsin. Four magnificent seasons. All very beautiful, but Winter can be extremely cold, and lots of snow. There exists a treasure that really has to be experienced if you are ever in the City of Milwaukee. It is known as "The Domes" The Mitchell Park Conservatory. Three completely different domes: One Desert, One Tropical, and one reserved that is known as seasonal. The seasonal dome has Easter, Christmas, and many other displays and floral gardens. Incredible diversity of plant life. Besides being of extreme size, this vision of being able to observe and participate in different Botany Worlds really is something to marvel. http://www.milwaukeecounty.org/MitchellParkConserva10116.htm    Besides the two climate rooms; the arid and the tropical one, there are five seasonal displays in ...

Now that your mail pile and kitchen are a little bit more put together, we will help you organize probably the second, or in some homes the first, most visited place, the bathroom.  Bathrooms are a tricky creature.  You either love or hate yours.  Some bathrooms are nice, clean, inviting and peaceful, others look like a nightmare, pink counters, cracked tile, peeling vinyl, and the list goes on.  We are not going to cover how to overhaul your bathroom, but we are going to try and help you make it more appealing and organized. Step 1: Clean It Out!  Just like with all the other tasks, this step comes first, probably because it is the most important one.  Now if you have more than 1 bathroom, this may take you a while.  So you can choose to go bathroom by bathroom and do all the steps tog...

If your house is anything like mine the kitchen is the hardest room to keep clean and organized.  I feel like all the family traffic moves through our kitchen.  In most homes the kitchen is the main hub of what is going on.  Meals are prepared here, your family eats here, you do the dishes here, and you might even pay the bills here.  Newer homes are being built with an open floor concept where all the other rooms surround the kitchen.  So no wonder it’s always a mess!   There is hope when it comes to cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a well kept kitchen.  We are going to walk you through 3 simple steps to organizing your kitchen, and hopefully at the end of this process you feel a little bit more like a family member and less like a maid!   Step 1: Clean Out!  Lets face it, we all ...

Springtime is quickly coming to an end, and soon we will be ushering summer right into our homes.  If you are anything like me, I usually get this itch mid March when the snow starts to clear and the sun starts peeking through the clouds, you know that itch, the clean out the house one!  Maybe the itch comes from being cooped up in your house all winter and you have the time to stop and look around more, take into account all the clutter, all the items you no longer use, or you realize your couch has been in the same spot since you moved in 10 years ago. The good news is whether it's spring, summer, winter or fall, it's never too late to scratch that cleaning and decluttering itch. Starting today, and over the next couple posts we are going to share with you some simple and affordable t...

Thanks to the foresight of men like Charles Whitnall, Milwaukee has an extensive infrastructure of park land. This year, why not pay tribute to the groups working to preserve our greenery, locally and otherwise, by participating in some Earth Day celebrations. Public Land Clean-ups with Keep Greater Milwa...

Last night we had the great pleasure of having dinner at Casablanca on Brady Street...Brady Street is a wonderful mix of cultural culinary delights from many corners of the globe....and part of what makes southeastern Wisconsin such a diverse and wonderful place to live.  This taste of the Middle Eastern cuisine promises to treat your tastebuds to the best you have ever had of these flavorful choices.     The entrance is complimented with two enclosed flaming torches a the end of a sheltering canopy. First founded in Milwaukee 30 years ago as The Sahara Inn by Chef Jesse Musa, the restaurant is now very much at home on Brady Street and Jesse's sons, Ramzi, Ala and Nasser, have taken over the restaurant's management.  The passion for exotic spices and pride in bringing guests not only ...

In the last year I have seen more and more storm or screen doors on the entrance to the home from an attached garage. This is very dangerous. They compromise the gas and fire barrier and the end result can lead to your home being burned down or /and death. Most people don’t realize that before the 1960’s most garages were detached from the home. This was done for good reason. The garage is where gas, oil and many other combustible products were kept. The possibility of your garage catching fire was many times greater than your home. If a fire started in your garage you would not want it to spread to your home. Thus the detached garage. Your fuel burning engines such as your automobile, lawn mower and snow blower are also kept in the garage and can release the deadly carbon monoxide gas....

Having worked with Pete and closed a number of projects with him in the Milwaukee area, I am excited to see loans directed at solving some of the problems we have seen creeping into the business over the past few months.  If you are looking at purchasing a forclosed property in the near future, make certain you are working with a Lender and Real Estate Agent with experience in the field.
