I never thought I would consider getting additional rain gear for Methow Valley, but this seems to be the rainiest spring I have seen in two decades in Winthop, Washington.  It is interesting that I am getting reports the coast is very sunny. Have the weather gods gotten confused about which part of the state is supposed to be a high desert steppe and which region is touted as a temperate rain forest? If this keeps up many residents in Methow Valley may need to consider high tech rain gear. I did a little research myself just for fun about the latest rain gear technology.  Turns out there are some folks that take rain gear technology very seriously. One site seems to have three non porus layers and another with a layer that has holes for allowing your skin to breathe, but the claim is t...

If you are interested in Winthrop Washington land and homes or Methow Valley real estate including Mazama, Twisp and Carlton, whether you are a Buyer or a Seller here are some ideas of the types of questions you may want to ask your broker.   Unfortunately from time to time I will be approached by some other broker's client and they will say "my real estate agent is really nice, but I am not getting the services I want."   I can tell you that the Methow Valley real estate brokers are all very nice folks.  What do you want from your realtor? I mean what do you really want? Buyers and Sellers may not realize that most Realtors are Realtors for life, and will be advising you regularly of market conditions, alert you of severe mountain weather, and available resources to help with the car...

Warmer Temperatures are coming and with them is the primo time to get out on that mountain or road bike for the 2011 Methow Valley Bike season. So what is new in cycle technology. Looks like we do not have to worry about goats beard getting into the tires.  There is a new Hutchinson tubeless tire that has been rolled out on the Monterey California Cycle scene and it seems to be preforming well.  Check out the complete article at http://ppolnews.com/?id=84972 . There is a lot of buzz around the new chain-less bicycles.  They are claiming to be smoother to ride, and have easier gear changing features.  No more grinding those gears!  It sure would be fun to check out the new design to see the improvements.  Here is a site that is designing and selling this style of bike. http://www.dynamic...

Opps I got a little out of sequence with my "dun da dah"   Mysssterrrry hikessss of the Nannnorth Cascades.  (just imagine Gollum announcing that title to get the intended effect.) As you can see from all the snow, this had to be early spring, nope it was actually around the 2nd week in summer. Can you believe how late the snow melt off was in Methow Valley this year? At any rate this fantastic hike is north of Mazama, you have to travel down some serious dirt roads, but as you can see only about half way up the mountain it is drop down kowabunga beautious mountain delicious. Vast open terrain for easy spectacular hikiing but Warning you will see no people besides the group you went in with! Can you guess where this is?

Methow Valley home owners, when you are arranging the furniture in your home for a sale, make sure to place the furniture so that the prime views are maximized.  This will get the most out of that gorgeous view window. If there is something you do not want to look at, arrange the furniture so that it angles to the view you do want to see. Did a house get built in part of your view shed out that expansive view window?  Well you can not move the house or the window very easily, but the furniture can easily be rearrange to incorporate the best view for you to enjoy along with the prospective buyers (should you get ready to sell your lovely home).
