The weather in Methow Valley is up into the 90's and summer is here. But earlier in the month we still had low temperatures in the 70's.  This hike is great for cooler and even cloudy days. It is one of the Methow Valley locals favorite spots to visit because it is so close to Winthrop Washington yet so spectacular. You can mountain bike or hike this amazing loop. So much fun to have in the beautiful Methow Valley, and that is why so many outdoor adventurist love to call the Methow Valley their home.

There I was, completely by accident, in the Mazama Windermere Real Estate Office working on the live music blog for the Methow Valley 4th of July holiday weekend.  When low and behold a very nice gentleman came in and said I see you are looking at some You Tube  live music. I said well you must be a musician to be so interested in this band, I can just tell. None other than Tom Landus from the Paperboys.  was standing right in front of me and as down to earth as you can get. Next Tom politely endured my overly enthusiastic jumping up and down and emphatic proclamation about how much I adore the Paperboys. It did not leave Tom much choice when I asked to get his autograph and he generously signed a new CD and gave it to me. I can't wait to hear it. What a great way to learn about the con...

Early summer in Methow Valley we are seeing substantial snow pack still lingering about the high peaks. Don't let that discourage you, there are still plenty of awe inspiring hikes up some pretty intriguing peaks around Winthrop Washington and Mazama. You will need good contour maps because many of the mystery hikes of Methow Valley do not have a formal trail to them. That is what the fun is all about anyway; going down the road less traveled. There are lots of hints about this popular mountain in the video of Mystery Hike Number 45, I know you can guess this one.

As I predicted a few months ago, the market has seen a change. Nationally here is what the NAR chief economist Lawrence Yun has to say: “The uptrend in home sales is in line with all of the underlying fundamentals – pent-up household formation, record-low mortgage interest rates, bargain home prices, sustained job creation and rising rents.” Our Methow Valley real estate market is not being left behind the nations improving real estate market trends. Chart 1 shows the Methow Valley sales activity for every type of real estate (land commercial, home and condominiums).  When compared with a year ago today we see a continuing uptrend in sales and contracts pending sale. This information is proviced by the Northwest Multiple Listing Service database and covers the 19 diverse communities of ...

The sun was shining and it was a hot Mother's day this May 2012 in Methow Valley.  That did not stop my husband getting me up and out the door to a new majestic Methow Valley mystery hike.  That athletic husband of mine was bounding right along while I was huffing and puffing up this steep mountain.  I better keep up with these hikes so it gets easier!  There are a lot of clues in this video to help you guess just where this is.  After all the Chelan Sawtooths are too spectacular to keep all to ones self.
