I love looking for new ideas for staging and upgrading something less than fantastic. After all we want our homes to be memorable and stand out on the market. My latest favorite idea is simple, inexpensive and knows how to make an entrance. Molding can make a difference and be the cleanest and best way to separate two unique colors. There is a large variety of moldings available and you can paint or stain to suit. Any left over pieces can make ideal floating shelves to showcase picture frames or favorite items that tie into your theme. I love repurposing and have found quite a few one of a kind pieces that brought just the right amount of ambiance into the room. The sky is the limit, get creative and give your home a chance to corner the market.

Inferno Advertising is offering many unique ways to market your brand or special event. This flash dive is perfect for loading your listings on for potential buyers or sharing your marketing techniques with sellers. It is a great way to not only stand apart but to offer a reusable tool that your clients will have a use for in years to come. It can also be a great hand out when sponsoring an event or to give away at your next open house so people can refresh their memories on the special features of the home. If you find yourself marketing vacation homes, this would be a great tool to share all about the local area and encourage people to put your oasis at the top of their list.

I have been very spoiled this week by my friends!  Yes they have spoiled me and it's kind of nice. I don't get to be spoiled too often or even spoil myself too much... course my husband spoils me all the time - but that's a different story! Fending for myself while my husband is on his annual elk hunting trip, it's the perfect time to reconnect and catch up with friends that I have not seen in a while, as well as spoil myself and let myself BE spoiled!  Last night  two very good friends of mine that I have not seen in awhile due to our busy schedules, surprised me by taking me to dinner at the Robin Hood Restaurant and Pub in Union WA. Located in Union, WA along the South Shores of Hood Canal, it is a quaint restaurant and pub offering the finest in Northwest cuisine as well as a specta...

Many want to see this photo as evidence of Global warming. Is it? In my humble opinion it looks like polar bears frolicking on an ice berg. We can not see all of the ice berg, but what we can see is how  stable the bears appear to be on the little icy platform. Polar Bears are nimble. They jump and swim and can get anywhere they please for the most part. Just ask the citizens of Canada that can not seem to keep them out of anything they happen to want. The dramatic picture makes it look as if the iceberg is melting below them like a Popsicle on a hot day. I think since we can not see the entire berg that is more likely that they jumped to this end to watch the boat with the photographer as it passed by. What do you think?

Quiet rolls in with the thick night air. Hood Canal reflects the mountains thoughts and the trees are standing tall in accounting. Beneath the surface whales sound and the Octopus drifts along unrolling it's tentacles in search of what is next. The birds float into their nests and settle in as the Owl hoots to remind us the night in drawing in. The Lights along the shore blink awake and smoke drifts out as the wood heat melts the chill back. A frog croaks and a fish jumps with a splash. All is well and awaiting a new dawn.

Our last General Membership meeting of the Mason County Association of Realtors, held at the Alderbrook Resort and Spa on Hood Canal), had all the glitter and glam of the Oscars.  Alderbrook (a cool website by the way) Resortwas a fitting venue. Realtor Divas and tuxedo Gents came forward in Oscar style to share with the membership all of the awards our association was presented with at the recently held annual Washington Realtors Hill Day. Mason County may not be the largest association in the State or the first one you think of when it comes to receiving State and National awards. But do not let our size fool you. The Association has been recognized for our RPAC investments, local membership participation and State participation. Several of our members serve on the State board and our...

Some days you just get up and the world is your oyster. This can be especially true in Mason County where we are known for oysters. (and whats with the Oysters...you might check out my other post on oysters) Today was a remarkable day. After low clouds and chilly nights, we woke up this morning to bright sunshine and clear skies. These kind of days make you believe anything is possible! For me it was taking charge of the "Yes Dear" yard work list.

Living in Mason County and searching through the past has been a past time of mine. I love History, especially that which pertains to my neck of the woods. Mason County has a rich history and a lot of fascinating events that have gone into making us who we are. When I first arrived here in 1984 it was a very different scene than it is today. There were lumberjacks, back woods men, and not everyone had a phone. It was very different than the life I was  accustomed to in Seattle. Life here  moved at a slower pace, and it still does. No matter how much we acclimate to a more sophisticated life one thing will always remain...the beauty of Mason County.  So whether you come and visit for a day or the rest of your life Historic Mason county is waiting for you. With events scheduled year round y...

A quiet drive down the twisting south shores 106, will lead you into historic Union, Washington, This photo was taken at their marina on a misty morning, which cleared into a brilliant Northwest day, complete I might ad with a rainbow. If you are in the neighborhood swing by and take a moment to visit Union, and enjoy a little of the good stuff that the Northwest offers.

I took this photo a couple of months ago while I was out showing property. It occurred to me that if there really is a pot of gold at the end of the Rainbow then the home owners in Hoodsport are in luck! I feel fortunate to have grabbed this photo because minutes later the rainbow and the mist were both gone. It reminded me of the Orca whale pictures I took in these same waters. Every time I snapped a picture it would take the pictures once the whale was under water again. I have beautiful pictures of saltwater spray and half fins and tails. The Whales should be back again this October, hopefully this time I will capture one with my new camera.
