What does 2014 have in store for the Lacey, WA area? That's a good question and we all hope that good things are coming our way. 2013 was a pretty good year and I believe that 2014 will be even better. I anticipate, just like everyone else, that home sales will rise in the spring. I think that we are finally starting to get over the slump that we were in. Hopefully 2014 will be a good market for both buyers and sellers...read more here.

The real estate market at Jubilee has been pretty brisk this year, with houses selling fairly quickly and many buyers waiting eagerly for new listings to appear on the market. Currently I found 10 homes listed for sale in our NWMLS, and they include 4 brand new homes and 6 resales.  Pricing on listed homes starts at $197,900 currently for a resale home that has approximately 1277 square feet and 2 bedrooms, 1.75 baths.  The high end for list price is $ 435,000 for a large home - 1928 square feet. The median asking price currently is $383,700 which reflects the number of larger homes on the market, commanding a much higher price.  Since the majority of the smaller homes have two bedrooms, the larger homes do appeal to those buyers who would really prefer to have a den in addition to th...

I've never been a big fan of Black Friday shopping.  Yes, I have tried it a time or two, but the crowds and WAY too early start times just don't seem worth it to me.  But the other reason I'm not a fan, is that I would MUCH rather shop local!    And one of the best ways I know to shop local is to head to the local holiday bazaars.  I find unique items, creative items, handmade items.  And can feel good about helping support other local entrepreneurs!     So this Friday, you will not find me at any of the big stores, despite all their advertising and attempts to lure shoppers in with bargains galore.  I will head to the bazaar at Thurston County Fairgrounds to do my shopping.  And they open at noon Friday - I do like that quite a bit better than venturing out at oh dark thirty!

It is really hard to believe that we are approaching the end of 2013, but my calendar says that we truly are.  So it seems like a good time to go ahead and look at what the sales at Jubilee have been like for the year thus far.   I know from showing homes in Jubilee that the sales have been pretty brisk - often at least one home that a buyer thought they might like to see has already gone pending by the time we are heading out to look at homes.  And in fact, that impression is borne out by the statistics.  So far, since the first of the year, our NWMLS shows 39 homes in Jubilee have sold at prices ranging all the way from $206,500 to $449,900.  This includes both new construction homes and resale ones.  The median sales price for this group of sales is $284,530.  This reflects that many...

Avoid these Three Mistakes When Selling Your Lacey Home Olympia, WA - When you decide to sell your home, setting your asking price is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. Depending on how a buyer is made aware of your home, price is often the first thing he or she sees, and many homes are discarded by prospective buyers as not being in the appropriate price range before they're even given a chance of showing. Your asking price is often your home's "first impression", and if you want to realize the most money you can for your home, it's imperative that you make a good first impression. This is not as easy as it sounds, and pricing strategy should not be taken lightly. Pricing too high can be as costly to a homeseller as pricing  too low. Taking a look at what homes in ...

The Jubilee neighborhood in Lacey, WA is one of my favorite places to show homes, and it offers a number of benefits to make it a great choice for active 55+ buyers. Here are my top ten reasons why you might LOVE living at Jubilee: 10. There are a variety of floor plans and sizes of homes, all with open living spaces and one level convenience. 9. Perfect for snow bird folks or frequent travelers - the monthly homeowner's fee includes front yard maintenance (even the irrigation in front for watering) and backyards typically include minimal, if any lawn (though plenty of room to barbecue, relax on patio or deck, and putter with the amount of gardening you choose to have). 8. A multitude of outdoor activities available - enjoy a brisk or leisurely walk, hop on your bicycle, play a few g...
