By viewing countless homes with listing agents, assuming you as the buyer(s) aren't walking around with your mouths duct-taped shut, you risk divulging information which "could" be used against you should you decide to later purchase any of those homes.  In Washington State, when you meet with the listing agent as a buyer, the listing agent is bound by a legal duty to the seller - unless you have a written "dual agency" agreement which states that the real estate agent is in fact representing both the seller and buyer (more on that another time). With this said, "legally speaking," the listing agent is required by the state licensing law to divulge to anyone viewing the home that they represent the seller. But in "real life" it is all too easy for this not to happen as it should, due t...

March roars in like a lion with early snow and home sales at a fast pace but prices continue their slow decline. Home sales have been exceeding new inventory for several weeks now which is leading to shorter market times. Since this is a Buyer's market, prices are not yet moving higher as excess inventory is consumed. However, if the supply and demand trend continues, the market will move towards balance and we will likely to see upward pressure on pricing.   Part of the move to a more balanced market is buyers realizing how great a time it is to buy. Right now with rates continuing at historic lows, home are extremely affordable. For many buyers the mortgage payment is less expensive then renting a comparable home.   Many home owners are refinancing to take advantage of these extremely...

Declutter in Issaquah Washington.  Do you find that you have things piling up in your home, but you just don’t want to take the time to declutter your home?We all feel that way sometimes.  And why is it that buying things and putting them into our homes is so much more enticing than taking things out of our homes?  Can’t donating be as fulfilling?  Yes, it can!I want to share one donating experience that knocked my socks off.  My company, Moving Forward, helps people declutter in Issaquah, Washington.  My client realized she wasn’t likely to ever move back to Washington.  However, she still had all the furnishings for a 1-bedroom apartment in storage in Issaquah.  She just wanted us to ship a few items back to her on the East Coast and get rid the rest, so she didn’t have to pay storage...

The very first paying customer I had, we’ll call her Fran, was physically disabled and a hoarder.  She had every horizontal surface piled at least 6 inches deep and two rooms piled to the ceiling with paths.  Of the two sofas in the living room, there was sufficient space for her to park her fanny on only one sofa.  I had to kneel on the carpet in a pathway. As we worked together, she needed to touch every last item in that house and it took forever and then some.  At one point, she had me sorting out paperclips by size and by whether they were plastic or metal.  I reminded her how much she was paying me and did she really want me sorting paperclips?  She said ,“Yes”; it was important to her.   In the beginning, we cleared off the coffee table.  We threw out what she thought was trash a...
