Above the creaking bridge a car rumbles and then stops. The day is bright and full of wonder. The fading blue horizon tosses puffs of white to and fro. The Heron waits. Today is a mystery only known by times told tale. The waters fill the bare pebbled beach. Birds fly and call out as if to catch the sun before she leaves. Clouds dot the blue sky and hover above the quiet waters. Treasure Island Stands by as the waves rock the boats at the Fair Harbor Marina. What will today bring? Many love to visit here and are likely to fill the air with laughter and aromas from the BBQ. A dog barks. Splashes. a boat rumbles along the shore where the land dips in and out. Welcome to the Treasure Island Bridge.This simple wooden bridge leads to an Island that sits like an Emerald Jewel sparkling in salty waters of Puget Sound. Once only accessed by boat the island was referred to as Reach Island and it Neighbor Stretch Island were dubbed this by the local school children who joked that it took a reach and a stretch to get to school each day being that at the time there were no bridges. Today the island is the center piece for a quiet life in North Mason County. From the squawk of a seagull to the scamper of the forests chipmunksmany enjoy the simple life here. Fish jump and taunt the eagles trained eye. Clouds drift by but want to linger a little longer here. Some days are meant for dreaming amongst the rhythmic waves and chunks of cotton candy clouds. Where your thoughts are all your own until the Eagles interrupt the water's surface and haul out the catch of the day. The sun paints it's reflection on the singing shifting water. The wind hides and follows and tries to bully the sailor to shore. But the sailor has made friends with all of the elements and can tell the vessel where to go. We took a new listing yesterday. It is a beautiful home. My partner has already put it on Localism (811 April Ave. Grapeview, Wa) if you are curious. We laughed and talked as we went over the listing agreement, answered questions, and then went over the comps. The wife spoke up as we were talking about the different homes, and pointed to one of our other listings in a magazine that we advertise in " Oh, I have been through that one, and it is gorgeous!" This comment startled and concerned me. Was I slacking on the job? The only way to see that home is to make an appointment, and I was not aware of her scheduling to see the home.
