In early January, I wrote a blog post about my memories of a drive-in restaurant that went back to my days as a youth. The place featured the 19 cent beefy, you bought about three at a time and they were great to the palate of a sappy kid. You can see that blog post here. I was at the barber shop the other day and the fellow cutting my hair asked if I had been to the new nostalgic drive-in that has recently opened in Ferndale -- a town a few miles north of Bellingham. I have not been to the new establishment, but this man proceeded to tell me how much fun it was. The drive-in, called "The Sonic Drive-in" has a goal of creating nostagia by taking us back to an authentic 1950's/60's experience. Hovander Park, A Treasure in Ferndale, Washington Hovander Homestead Park, steeped in cultural history and rich in natural beauty, has something of interest for everyone. Ferndale, WA Recent numbers from the Northwest Multiple Listing Service show a slight increase in real estate sales from September.  Last month 18 homes sold in the Ferndale region making it two months in a row with positive numbers.  For the month of October, there are currently 8 homes sold and 10 homes pending sale, which would match last months totals.  There is however 3 pending sales for vacant land in the Ferndale area which saw no activity at all last month.  Keep in mind there are still 4 days left in the month, but we seem to be seeing an increase in sales in what many consider the slower months of the year.  Since August we have seen a market that is selling homes while the inventory is shrinking.  This would be positive news for home sellers who still have a home listed as t...

This months average sales price is down 10.1% compared to last year, while median price went up 8.8%.
