Letters to Santa at Macy's and Make A Wish   Do you know why Macy's has a "Letters To Santa" mailbox in all their stores? I didn't fully understand the reason why until just today.  For every Letter to Santa Macy's collects they will donate $1 to the Make A Wish Foundation. The Make A Wish Foundation grants wishes to life threatening medical conditions. Wishes such as a puppy, a Disney Cruise, a professional basketball or hockey game, go to prom, donate bunny blankets at the local hospital, or a request to meet a New York Firefighter. The Wishes are as diverse as the wisher themselves. Federal Way October 2012 Real Estate Stats   71 homes sold (closed) in Federal Way in October 2012.     Here are the averages of the 71 Federal Way October 2012 Real Estate Stats-   The average sold price was $231,774. The median sales price was $220,000. The sales prices ranged from $105,000 to $525,000. The houses were on the market for an average of 73 days before they received a contract. 58 of the 71 Federal Way sales were priced $299,999 and below. (81.69% of the sales!) Only two sales were priced at $400,000 and above.     226 Federal Way homes are under contract (pending sales). Of the 226 pending sales, 97 homes are short sales waiting for lien holder approval of the short sale (42.9%). Helping Local Federal Way Families Looking for a way to help local Federal Way families this Thanksgiving?  Heritage Bank and Grace Church have teamed up and are raising money and collecting supplies to feed at least 100 families in our community. What can you do? Fall Colors in Federal Way Federal Way has a lot of green trees. In fact, most of the main streets are tree lined. Which means in the fall we have quite a show of fall colors. As you drive down the streets of Federal Way you will see lots of yellow, orange, red, and burgandy leaves.  Like this tree for instance. There are two of them in the parking lot of the Federal Way Keller Williams office. I call them the split personality trees. Here it is nearly the middle of November and they are still partly green. Almost like they are refusing to believe it is actually fall. Not unlike many local people of Federal Way. Veterans Day - A time to say thanks As Veterans Day approaches I wanted to take a moment to say Thank You all of our past, present, and even future Military personnel. Federal Way September 2012 Monthly Home Sales Stats   63 homes sold (closed) in Federal Way in September 2012.     Here are the averages of the 63 Federal Way WA September 2012 Home Sales-   The average sold price was $254,064. The median sales price was $223,000. The sales prices ranged from $80.900 to $840,000. The houses were on the market for an average of 57 days before they received a contract. One was on the market 472 days before it received/accepted a contract; several were on the market less than 10 days before receiving a contract.  48 of the 63 Federal Way sales were priced $299,999 and below.
