The 25th annual Crown Park Easter Egg Hunt in Camas gets underway this Sunday, March 27th beginning at 1:30 PM. Children, from 2 - 12 years of age, can search for more than 10,000 candy and toy-filled eggs hidden throughout the park in designated areas.Parents must accompany all children, but are not allowed in hunt area - they'll need to stay in the section for the 2-3 year olds. Perks of the Multi-Gen LifestyleWe just returned from a quick weekend trip to Bend, Oregon. Not only do we enjoy the scenic mountain town and its high-desert climate ( think lots of sun!), we especially love to visit our son, his wife, and three grandchildren. Since our youngest grandson is about nine-months old and crawling, we left our white Golden Retriever Mac at home this trip. City of Camas Lights up with LEDsThe process of replacing more than 3,000 high pressure sodium streetlights with energy efficient LED (light emitting diode) lights began this month in downtown Camas. It's the largest energy efficiency project in the city's history.As Commerce Director Brian Bonlender says, " Moving to more energy-efficient publically owned built buildings, and towards cleaner, renewable energy sources is good for the environment and good for our economy."  We concur.LEDs are currently leading-edge for street lamps. Their cost is dropping, plus they have better service reliability, and use about 85% less energy than older sodium diode bulbs.
