Some “Interesting” Magnolia Scenes While Previewing For Upcoming Magnolia View Home Listing (Checking out the competition is what I like to do before bringing a new listing on):I like to go out and pound the pavement as if I am a buyer to see what is available at certain price points before bringing on listings at certain prices.  It is easy to come up with a market value, but in order to account for views and upgrades, I like to really look closely at what a buyer has for choices at any given point.  During these tours, it is interesting to see some of the oddities that show up at listings. These sellers had a tiny sliver of a view of the Puget Sound and apparently also a bird problem.    Magnolia seller Tip:  If your home is on the market, get rid of the ugly owl.  Honestly, I just d...

Magnolia is one of the largest Seattle neighborhoods and filled with beautiful and historical homes as well as surprisingly many newer or new construction homes. The neighborhood has miles and miles of beautiful beaches and waterfront and a large volume of public park land including Discovery Park. The neighborhood of Magnolia is centered around "The Village" and the Magnolia homes surrounding this hub tend to be on the "A" Hill or the "B" Hill. Neighborhoods within Magnolia include Land's End, Lawtonwood, Magnolia Bluff, and Briarcliff. Many have extensive views of both the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. Another great site is to see the Bainbridge Island Ferry going back and forth across the sound or watch the cruise ships come in and out. Magnolia Real Estate in Seattle, WA Cl...

Ella Bailey Park in Magnolia is actually one of Seattle's newest parks, although it seems like we have been enjoying it already for a long time!  Ela Bailey was a school teacher and in the 1920's she gifted the land to the city to be used as a park. The land had previously been used as a playground area for the closed down Magnolia Elementary School (corner of Smith and 28th Ave W).  This park has some of the best views of Seattle and the cruise ships (as seen from the photo I took today from our Father's Day outing there).  You can find Ella Bailey Park here: 2601 W Smith Street, Seattle, WA 98199 You can find more details about theis great Magnolia view park here: http://www.seattle.gov/parks/park_detail.asp?id=318 If you are interested in Magnolia homes for sale: Magnolia Real Estat...

Another Bank Bites the Dust! Under fire from Democrats and Republicans alike, Ben S. Bernanke on Thursday December 4, 2009 defended his record as chairman of the Federal Reserve but conceded that the central bank's lapses contributed to the financial crisis. 'New York Times" Mr. Bernanke on a radio interview today said that he was sure that if we had not bailed out the banks when we did, America would be in a depression right now. This Bank of America located at 1810 W. Emerson St. Seattle, WA in the neighborhood of Magnolia is due to close it's doors for good on February 26, 2010 at 2pm Are we going to miss these banks closing? How many banks does America need anyhow? More and more people are losing their homes due to Foreclosures. People can go back to buying homes with Deeds of Trust...
