It has been a blustery few weeks here on Bainbridge Island! Cold and sunny have taken over the dark rainy winter, to create brilliant blue skies that entice us to enjoy being outdoors in the great northwest.   Among the many places we frequent, a trip to Fay Bainbridge Park is high on our list for a brisk walk.  Driftwood piles along the waterfront make this an interesting and challenging walk for me, although my best four legged friend has no trouble at all enduring our obstacle course! One of my favorite picnic pavilions sits on the hill overlooking the water. I enjoy the smell of charred wood baked into the walls from years of fires built in the stone hearth it provides. I love a trip to my favorite market (Pike Place, where else?) on a blustery winter's day! Commuting via ferry from Bainbridge Island is one of the best ways to enjoy the heart of Seattle without the hassle of driving and finding a long term parking spot! Our journey today started out with an unforgettable sunrise that began our adventure on an exhilarating note! A cup of coffee from the ferry concession and a brisk walk around the deck make the thirty-five minute ride fly by! Upon arrival, we chose the waterfront path to our destination. I love a stroll past the restaurants, Ferris wheel, curiosity shops, and aquarium park to remind me of how much the Emerald City has to offer.
