Today my clients were looking at a beautiful waterfront property along the Occoquan Reservoir.  The only problem was we couldn't see the water for the fog.  As we wandered the property we came across this old gazabo which had seen better days.  The good news is the rest of the property was top notch and well cared for.  I'm hoping the 2 days of fog we've had will lift tomorrow so we can see the water again soon.

Though Prince William County isn't known as the "land of lakes" or often thought of as "waterfront" buyers coming to the area might be surprised to find out how much waterfront property they can find to buy.The first thing you have to decide is what type of waterfront would you like?  Is it on a lake or river where you can put in a power boat?  Is it a flowing creek where you can fish?  How about a lake perfect for kayaking?  Or is a private pond more to your liking? No matter which you would prefer you can find homes scattered throughout Prince William County that fit your definition of waterfront.  From condos in Belmont Bay, townhouses in Montclair or a detached home in Nokesville you can find it.If you are interested in learning more about the available waterfront homes in Prince Wi...

Need a place to get away only a few minutes from Woodbridge VA? Then consider slipping away to the Bull Run-Occoquan Trail off of Old Yates Ford Road just across the Fairfax County line. You can access the trail at multiple points but today we started just across the street from Bull Run Marina. This portion of the trail is just over 6 miles to reach Fountainhead Park.  If you don't want to go that far just head out along the Occoquan Reservoir for 30 minutes and then turn around and come back. Most of the way along the trail you will be walking next to the water and can catch a glimpse of local waterfowl, a deer or two and if you are lucky an eagle may be fishing in the reservoir as well.  The Bull Run-Occoquan Trail is maintained by the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club and is part of an...

Though it is often easy to focus on the newer communities in Prince William County tucked just off the main roads are a number of well established communities that should be on your list of neighborhoods to explore.  One of those is the neighbhorhood of Occoquan Forest just minutes from the Prince William County Parkway and across the river from Fairfax County. For home buyers who are looking for property that is not the usual brick front colonials then Occoquan Forest may just be what you are looking for.  The Occoquan Forest neighborhood has just over 200 contemporay style homes tucked on lots loaded with trees. Almost all of the homes have wood siding and plenty of windows across the back to take in the wooded views.  The neighborhood has it's own private park on the Occoquan River....
